Love the EcoBoost. Hate the badge.
I love my new F150 EcoBoost!
I love telling folks about Ford's fantastic new engine that has performance and technology to rival any European luxury car maker, let alone domestic manufacturers. I love talking about the EcoBoosts Direct Injection, Water Cooled Twin Turbo's, and Fuel Efficiency.
And I want to show it off!
But this?
I think the badging is pretty lame. This is the only thing identifying our superb new motor? I've already removed them from my doors...
I'd love to design an improved EcoBoost decal, probably for the rear tailgate where the flexfuel badge goes on the 5.0's.
Maybe something more in line with the EcoBoost lettering on the EcoBoost Baja truck:
maybe with smaller
3.5L TwinTurbo
lettering below it.
Only one problem... I have great technical skills, but nearly zero artistic ability.
Anybody else like this idea?
Anybody else like this idea and have some graphic arts talent?
If somebody can work with me on getting a good photoshop or illustrator version of a new EcoBoost decal, I can handle getting them made up if anybody wants them.

so you lie to them? what about the EB makes you think it has the performance to rival what /mercedes and BMW produce? technology maybe, performance no. try again when its pumping out 500+hp/lb-ft factory stock.

Look at some numbers:
Mercedes AMG 5.5 Liter V8 Twin Turbo makes 571 Hp.
That is 103.8 Hp/ Liter.
Eco Boost 3.5 Liter 365 Hp.
That is 104.3 Hp/ Liter.
Hmmm, Ecoboost makes more power per liter than AMG's big badass twin turbo V8..........
Something to ponder.

I happen to love the badge.
As I have said before, I can point to the leaves and tell people that the world is smiling and blowing me kisses every time I drive it.
Just my little part I do for the environment.
Even Prius' don't have leaves....

porsche has a 3.8 that puts out 530hp...that would be 139hp/l.
look, the EB is a good engine but some of the statements get a little ridiculous. when ford builds a 5.0 EB, then maybe the OP's statement will be true, until then, it's a 360hp V6 that had its performance compared to an engine that puts out more than 50% more power.

Yes I'm also a noob on this forum but I've been a member on other F150 forums for 8 years, as long as I've been on the internet and have been driving Ford trucks for 30 years. Your Ecoboost bashing posts get more sickening than Loki5.0's.
