Mine fell off in a carwash, during the undercarriage wash. 2 of the 4 clips were gone. Only 5K on the 2012 truck. I can't believe there's something this cheap underneath a Ford truck. They've ordered me another one...

Keepin' the lights on!
I lost mine in my attic, the useless factory part junkyard swallowed it up! I cant believe the costs Ford has incurred in designing and adding all these covers, shields and plates under these trucks. I understand the fuel economy aspect, but everyone who's removed them hasn't seen any effects from what I've read.

Yes,
Your bracket that is at the top of your picture looks bent. It is suppose to hang down at a 90deg angle so the white clip can screw into the square hole.
If I were you, I would just remove it. I did it. They serve no real purpose.

I lost mine as well.
Thinking of ordering an aftermarket one from RCI Metal Works.
My concern for having a skid plate under the transmission is to keep the mud away from the tranny. I go on a lot of gravel roads and recently i washed my truck from beneath on a ramp. Took a ton of dry mud of the transmission.
Too much mud around the transmission lines can lead to overheating of transmission.
That's the only reason for getting a skid plate.

Replaced mine yesterday with a full RCI Metalworks Skid Package...Problem solved...but on another note. I noticed the two rubber air blocks on either side of the radiator have torn and come loose...45K miles and they are barely hanging on. Need someone to come up with an aluminum replacement panel for each side that will hold up
