Looks like trouble...

Tim, Sorry to hear you"re having the same issue as I am with the 5.0L. Your video sounds just like my 2011 5.0 sounds. Unfortunately for me both the dealer, and Ford say my 5.0L sounds like it is running normal. Ford has told me they will do nothing else to diagnose the knocking sound after no metal was found in the oil filter. I was told the issue was closed unless there is a catastrophic failure, or another issue occurs with my truck. I was given a 3yr/36,000 mile ESP for powertrain that started immediately. I'm still under the original 5yr/60,000 mile factory warranty. So they really only gave me 1yr/23,000 mile extension with a $100 deductible. I've thought about buying an ESP, but if Ford will not do anything for the issue now while still under warranty. Then I"m just wasting my money on them. For this I'm in the process of shopping for another truck, and NO it will NOT be a Ford!!!!!
All I can say is Good Luck with your dealer, and with Ford. Hopefully they will step-up, and fix it for you.
Here is my 2011 5.0L

Pale Screw, that sounds like mine. I have a Ford ESP, it is just embarrassing when people hear that from your truck. If Ford want to keep selling trucks and be #1, it would be in their best interest to address these issues. I will find out soon regarding what they will do. If not, I will make sure my voice is heard...

You may want to remove evidence of you plowing. We had a harsh winter and this is straight out of the owners manual. They may blame excessive engine wear on your plowing. Just saying.
SNOWPLOWING
For F-150 snowplow applications, Ford recommends the F-150 4x4
Regular Cab, SuperCrew Cab and SuperCab equipped with the 6.2 liter
engine.
Note:
The F-150 3.5L and F–150 5.0L not recommended for
snowplowing.

I believe you're right but that statement I quoted is straight out of the owners manual with no referance to the steering. I didn't cherry pick that and leave out any statements that said the steering, they specifically mention engine sizes that are not recommended for snowplowing.

Lots of GM LS series engines have cold piston slap noises without catastrophic engine failure. Some LS blocks even had out of round cylinders. That knocking sound after being warm would be reason enough for me to file a Lemon Law claim and force Ford to buy it back.

Just buy a PowerStroke emblem off ebay and slap it on the fender!! I have found that most service departments, not just Fords, will tell you unless it throws a CEL then nothing is wrong, keep moving folks nothing to see here.
