Been there done that. Thats why i left the diesel world. 30k psi of rail pressure is all good until a piece of trash or water gets into the injector.

DI is no joke when it comes to suspended particals. The internal workings of a injector body leave no room for error.

Ford put a great filter setup on the new EB motor. Far superior to most n/a production motors. But unfortunalty you cant fix stupid and an open cas cap invites stupid people.
Actually the cummins injectors fail 9 times out of 10 due to their design. The first year dmax's had a faulty design injector and switched in 04 I believe and no longer have that issue. And can you please explain to me how dodge and Chevy are the only ones with dirt in the tanks causing the injectors to go bad when ford also uses the same injection system? And never trust a dealer when it comes to a bad injector caused by contaminated fuel. My cousin is still suing ford over the $10,000 repair bill on his 6.4 diesel that ford claimed was dirt in the fuel when it's been tested and found to have no dirt in it. Dealers are notorious for denying injector repairs on diesels (all three brands) because they are expensive and its so easy to say, "your fuel was dirty therefore it's not covered." Ford is not going to build a part that will let dirt and dust in knowing these engines have to go at least 60k miles under warranty.

Been around the diesel world for a long time and not just on forums.

The outside lid has a gasket on it... There shouldn't be any dirt on top of the filler port.
