They did. They developed their tow tunes with a local customer. But, doubting it was recorded. I've towed 8,0000+ in death valley up that POS hill at the end, in 120* with no problems. Ive towed to Phoenix and back at least 30x in 105*+. I've towed up and over the hump to pahrump umpteen times, and the truck would pull faster than you could manage the load. Never has the Liver tune let me down.

Sorry if it has been previously mentioned jcain, but what tow tune are you using in that hot climate...the 93 or 91 octane?
Thanks

Cheers!

87 tow with 91 octane. I just now grew a set and started running the 91 tow, and its a bad ****. I'll still run the 87 tow with 91 octane in the dead heat of the summer just for safety. A few tq and Hp just ain't worth a motor.

Right on...Thank You.
Yeah that was my worry, was if the 91 tow tune would be ok in massive heat like we have down south here. I had a hard time switching to the 93 perf tune since I live down here in south texas and the heat is ridiculous. But after talking with Rick, I tried it out and it works great. Just wanted to get some feedback from someone with experience using the 91 octane and up tow tunes in high heat conditions.

Cheers!

Plus, the octane/tune buffer will help if you catch a lazy gas octane when filling in bfe, know what I mean?

We have several hundred dyno pulls from our truck and though most are labeled by octane, I can't seem to find the tow tune runs. Also, I think I only the 87 tow tune was tested on the dyno. The others were developed on the street with a trailer data logging.

I came from a 2011 6.7 diesel to an ecoboost. If towing a lot I would just stick with a diesel! I moved to the eco expecting better fuel economy but that is totally not the case. The 6.7 was better in day to day driving and destroys it towing fuel economy. I will say that the eco is a more comfortable ride though.

6.7 might beat the eco in towing mpg but not in everyday driving- no way no how
