If I understand correctly from Rick, you can download 2 custom tunes, say a performance tune and a tow tune, then shift between the 2 with the device. No need to email LMS or dowload a new file. The trade-off would be you will not have the stock file readily available on the tuner, but you could email LMS and have them email you the stock file if you ever wanted to return it to factory settings. This sounds pretty reasonable and practical for my situation. I will probably only need the tow tune occasionally, and the 91 performance tune for all the other time.

I'm about to pull the trigger myself after realizing i could have those 2 tunes at the ready.

Whatever you say man. I have simply conversed with others about this issue. Not sure why you are dead set on painting me as being so angry while I type. Never defensive....just conversing with others who are responding to my comments...once again...simply giving my opinion. I've even put a multitude of smiley thumbs up faces in my posts...Doesn't look defensive to me.
Breathe a little sluggo...I don't want you to go to bed mad. Its not good for you.

Rick,

To download the tunes, do you have to have Internet Explorer or can you download though Apple / Safari program? If IE only, which version is minimum (IE6)?

Are they currently in stock if ordered this week?

Thanks,

Im sure there not used to having this many customers with tuned trucks since flex and sho drivers arnt usually in need of a tow tune.
That's an interesting thought. I don't see any reason saving the emails with the different tunes wouldn't work...or would it Rick?
I think once they figure out a way to have the tuner hold 2-3 tunes + the stock file they will own the F150 EB market (if they don't already). Either way, it will just get better for everyone involved if they go that route.

Rick, is the factory ECU memory really that small? For instance on my old Titan uprev was able to tune 3-5 (depending on model year and ecu memory size) different tunes all able to switch on the fly pushing a combination of the cruise control buttons (in a way you would never hit on accident). Maby these new trucks are just huge files though. Just a thought. Would be cool if the perimeters were not too much different (like fuel trims and boost etc) that a2nd tune like a tow tune could be programed into the tow/haul mode activated by the button on the column. Just a shot in the dark
This is incorrect, we have to let you know to connect the device to a PC to download the new file each time. I'm not going to say it isn't a bit of an inconvenience, but it's a short term solution.

The memory size of the tuner is the same as most others we use, the truck files are just very large.

Unfortunately, that won't work. It has to have the stock file as a base, so you couldn't have two custom files on one device. I have quite a few guys using the tow tune for daily driving. It is a huge improvement over stock performance wise and has the same trans calibration as the performance tunes.

Thanks,
We send a link to the loader, then the customer connects the device to the computer and it puts the file right on the device. I have guys running bootcamp and using a MAC, but it is a PC program.

Yes, they are currently in stock.

That wouldn't be a bad idea, but we don;t send an actual file. As mentioned above, you download the loader and then connect to the computer and it puts the file on the device.

Thank you,

Rick

Thank you,

Rick
I think this is the best for me and a TRUCK. If this smooths out performance and delivers better mph and performance....that is all I need.

Yeah this is a deal breaker for me. I tow often enough that I need to have a tuner that allows me to switch between performance tune and tow tune on the fly, I can't be downloading a new tune every time I need to switch between towing and performance tunes.

Damn, I thought I had finally found the tune for me but I guess I'll keep looking. Not in a hurry, the longer I wait the more user reviews of the different tuners I'll be able to read before making a choice. Maybe I can be sold on the Tow tune and fore go the performance tune but I'll have to look at that more closely.

I don't think you'll be able to find an ecoboost tuner that will allow on the fly tuning. All of the released tuners so far (SC, BD, LMS, Edge) completely reflash the ECU which requires you to stop and turn off the truck to retune.

That's what I mean by on the fly. With the others I don't have to download the other tunes from the internet. I just turn off the truck and change it.

Again I'm going to look for more information on the Tow tune. Maybe I can run that during the summer when I do a lot of towing and the performance tune over the winter when I don't do a lot of towing. It would be nice if they increase the memory so it could hold 3 tunes.
