Set some things straight.

For the Livernois pricing, you get all of their tunes, which I believe comes out to 8 total (87, 89, 91, and 93 both perf. and tow tunes) If you need something specific they work with you to get what you want, they are easy to deal with and great turn around times. As far as it being outrageously priced, I don't see that. When you look at what most (ok so not MPT who is $325) they are about 100-150 less than what Livernois is charging.

The tuner device may not have fancy decals and such but it works. You don't hear about people plugging it in for constant firmware updates, calling the person they bought it from to get it to work, or having to have custom tunes written to it so that it will communicate with the truck. In it's current state the hardware can only hold one tune but an update will be out shortly to hold more. Again the device might not me the coolest looking and have the nicest decals on it, but it works and it works well. It might not do parameter readouts but I bought Livernois tune because I had faith in their tunes and product that I woudln't have to drive around holding my tuner to see if it is safe or not, I would rather just drive and thats what I have done.

The OP was asking about livernois tune and it makes me laugh it tuned into another SCT vs livernois thread which really doesn't surprise me. To the OP, yes livernois is still around, their tunes still work great, and they yes they are still comparable to what's on the market as you can see a lot of the top spots in the 1/4 mile times thread are still held by Livernois. The main threads are not as active as the SCT threads because they have been out longer and the hype of the SCT tuner, the issues that the tuner has, and multiple companies now finally catching up in the ecoboost game are posting in their new threads.

The tuner is still a great seller for us! We are going to be releasing an update soon for everyone that currently has the tuner and all new tuners shipped will display the name of the tune that is loading and the device will hold the stock + 4 custom tunes.

We drive our EcoBoost truck everyday and have had zero issues of any kind. We are going to have it back on the dyno soon to see what kind of gains can be had from an offroad downpipe. We've had several customers request tune updates with the rear 02's shut off, but we want to see if more power can be had as well.

Thank you,

Rick

Rick,

Could I come to the shop and test drive a 87 octane tune before I buy? I'll be working on oakwood blvd in mid September.

That is more than half according to my math and then factor in the labor and cost if you have to gap your plugs or buy new plugs. Just my 2 cents.
Why would you have to re-gap or buy new plugs?

Only one bought plugs, bc he wanted to. Labor? Lol you don't have a ratchet? Its simple, a newb can do it in an hour. Most don't even need to gap, only the ones with the f'd up plugs. Such as most have been .35 or less, perfectly fine, bit there have been a few cases where peoples plugs have been .45 from the factory...most of these complained of poor performance forever just wouldn't check them...

Even on Lnois tunes, you have .45 plugs and your gonna have problems.

Thank for clearing that up. I was reading on some other posts that someone was having shuttering issues and the only way he got that to go away was gapping and changing the plugs. It seems as though he was the only one having that trouble as I read further and further back.

Love the Livernois 93 octane tunes. Would recommend it to anyone shopping for a tuner. Unfortunately I'm going to sell mine and the solo exhaust. If I ever buy another eco, I will call Livernois first thing.
