I was hoping the OEM would offer it as a 4.0L when they discontinued the 5.0L LOL. An they did neither !

Here's my 3.7 2013 STX 4X4. Just put a Spyder Industries Bull Bar and 6" KC Apollo Pro lights on her. I'm running a 2" Ready Lift Leveling Kit, 18" Misfits 800 XD Series Wheels, 33" Mickey Thompson ATZ P3s (275/70/18) and she still gets up and goes. She's a good truck for a young guy.

Not sure if this was posted but it is pretty cool.

The little 3.7L is a beast despite its high revs. Wish this engine would make its way into a new quad cab ranger. These guys definitely need to test the 5.0L with 8000+ lbs. like they did with the other brands. Something tells me it will completely embarrass the 5.3 ecotec

I'm still hoping my mpg goes up. I just purchased a CPO 2011 3.7L with 22k miles. I'm on my second tank (80-90% city driving) and only averaging 14.8. Maybe I need to have it looked at. I've been watching the milage on the 5 minute interval. Maybe I shouldn't watch it so close and just enjoy the drive.

That's about par for that much city. The only way to get good mileage is to always cruise at 55 and never use the brake pedal.

I would think resetting the trip OD and taking a 500 mile drive to get your average up there around 21 mpg would help with the start and stops driving average. These engines are designed to run hot which takes about 10 miles of steady driving. Like it best on 55 mph blacktops.

I've got a 2012 Supercab 3.7 6 1/2 foot bed with 62,000kms (38,500 miles) and l haven't had any problems at all. The truck runs great and does whatever l ask of it. I work out every tank of gas by hand, and my average it 18mpg (U.S. gallon). I love the 3.7!!

Default Towing 5000lbs

Hi all - we are looking to buy a travel trailer and I'm looking for some real world towing experiences. On a lot of other forums I have just heard "well I would never tow with a 3.7L" but very little in the way of info from people who actually have a 3.7L.

Tow vehicle is my wife's 2014 2wd 3.7 Screw XLT. It had the 3.73 gears and the tow package. The trailer we are looking at is 5040lbs and 30' long. Obviously we would need to pack light and make sure tanks are empty. We would be getting a good weight distribution hitch with sway control. I fully expect it to be doggy, but as long as we can maintain 55mph we're good.

So for those of you who have actually stretched your legs towing - is this doable? I kind of wish we had gone with a 5.0 but the price was right and I like the better mpg in daily driving. It's really a fantastic truck.
