Default Let's discuss -- which tuning shop?

I've been looking at buying a tuner for my 2012 F150 5.0 -- After doing some searching on the forums, I've narrowed the choices down to Stage3 and MPT -- currently I'm leaning towards MPT due to how customizable they are. Stage3 only offers a few options. I could be way off base as I haven't emailed them yet to talk to them about my concerns.. which I plan on doing before I buy since they are a active member in this community.

But right now, I'm on a fact finding mission!! Tell me about your tune shop, and your tuner! Currently I thinking about purchasing the SCT X4, but if you think I'm way off base, let me know!!!

Thanks!

One thing going for Stage3 is that they offer a warranty on their tunes. Here's more info:

I just got the Stage 3/5* package with warranty. very happy with the tunes and service. Seems like a very good all around tune.

I hear the MPT may be faster, but I wasn't looking for the fastest. I was looking for a good DD tune with lots of power and reliable.

Sorry, just read you have a 5.0, so my experience may not be related.

That's one of the main benefits to SCT.

You can get a tuner like the X4, and then get multiple custom tunes from variety of places if you want to try different places out as the SCT units can hold up to ten custom tunes in addition to the three preloaded tunes that it will come with.

This I totally understand and it's one of the reason that I love the product!

On the other hand, I'd rather buy it from the shop I'm going to be getting the tuning done from, as it's much less expensive to get the tunes packaged with the tuner than to buy them later on....

In other news, I just called stage3 and I have to say I wasn't impressed with the guy I talked to on the phone. Not the best attitude for a sales guy, was very terse in his answers to someone who is obviously new to this sort of thing. -- not impressed.. sad actually, because I love the fact that the Stage 3 frequents the forum...

I have a MPT tune and it blows my mind that there is SO much improvement over stock with just a tune on a gas engine. BTW, I have a 5.0L

I have the SCT x4 with 5* tunes thru stage 3 with warranty as well, I can't find any fault with the tuner or the custom tunes, it woke my 5.0 up in a way I would have never thought possible.

When you can make the tire bark from a 20 mph roll it's a little addictive.
