I have my truck in now for faulty turbos, I've been having a chirping noise come from one of them. Then Friday I only had 6lbs of boost and got a po299 code. They are initially saying the turbo crapped the bed. They will let me know tomorrow and I will update.

Well he called me back and said my left turbo was going bad and leaking oil, so they are replacing my left turbo now. He is hoping that is the problem with the noise.

I put it all back to stock and unhooked the battery, either that worked or their pretty cool, because he told me he had to dig to find the code po299 that I told him it threw.

I have the same sounds in my right turbo every so often! Did you find anything outon yours? When I take mine in for oil change I'm going to schedule an appt. to look at that noise.

Default Turbo squeal

I've noticed in the last couple weeks that on cold starts (like sitting overnight or all day at work - it's not cold here in Texas right now) I'm starting to get a whine/squeal on the left side - commensurate with the turbos initially spooling up on start up. The sound goes away after about 5-10 seconds, and is only on the driver/left side, but has been getting progressively worse - higher pitched and more annoying. The only reason I noticed it was because I've done the remote start and walked up to it to get in and heard it.

I've got around 55k miles on it, never been tuned. I just moved about 150 miles away from the dealership we bought it from (with extended warranty) in Houston, so I'm waiting to see what happens and/or how bad it gets. I'll be watching this thread to see what happens to everybody else, and keep posting on what happens on my end.

Sounded like that when my Vac pump went bad drivers side front. It's right under the left headlight. Don't know if that's your prob just throwing it out there.

My left turbo has started sounds like cicadas at 58,000 miles so time to have it looked at before the warranty runs out.
