Larger OEM tires affect MPG?

I was wanting to go from my 2WD tires (255/65/17) to 4WD tires (265/70/17). Has anyone done this? How much does it affect MPG?

Tire weight...

...will affect your MPG. It just takes more power to get them rolling....

Also, the diameter of the two tires are different and may require recalibrating your speedometer.

I took a random look at some Bridgestone tires specs in the sizes you've indicated:

255/65-17: Diameter: 30.1" Tire weight: 38 lbs

265/70-17: Diameter: 31.9" Tire weight: 42 lbs

why wouldnt it? Anything other than stock spec will effect mpg/performance

What if I went from stock 2WD 17" to stock 2WD 18"

minimal to no change
