I just put that drop in filter in my truck. went with the synthamax dry filter. I was going to do an Injen, but talked myself out of it (hp vs cost vs fact stock system is CAI) It seems to help light throttle response a touch, which I feel I lost a bit of with the Heartthrob. No clue on power as my butt dyno isnt that sensitive. No clue how it will work on a stock exhaust vehicle.

I had no idea that a K&N type oiled filter was bad for turbo engines......Thanks for the info.......you guys just talked me right out of buying one......I'll stick with what Ford designed it with.

DON"T DO IT TO A TURBO! The air velocities are just too high for the oiled filters to catch heavy grit. Seen it, payed for it.
The stock air filters are extremely good or the trucks wouldn't make the power they do. Just change them when you need too, and enjoy long engine life.
Heed the warnings from the above posts, it's for real.
My reply here is not intended to start a war nor am I a K&N fanboy and I'm not going to make a case either way. I simply want to provide a different perspective. I am the original owner of a 2001 F250 7.3 Powerstroke that's had a K&N filter in it since the 2000 mile mark. It now has clocked 235,000 miles and still going strong. No turbo issues whatsoever...

2nd that Don't hate on K and N. Have in take on my 2011 EB and have had them on all my trucks for years no issues at all. Way to much flow restriction with OEM. Do you think Ford would spend extra on better intake and exhaust when they already have the best half ton bone stock.

Case studies can be misleading. Boat engines don't even have air filters, but can last a long time due to a generally dust-free environment. There are a lot of factors at play, but the fact is that the micron rating of a K&N is deplorable when compared to OEM and Amsoil.

Run k&n on my last 4 vehicles and my parents. 4 of them turbo charged. All over a 100k and one over 200k miles. Never lost a turbo or an engine and one of them was running a 72mm turbo pushing 58psi of boost.

Can't wait for my k&n intake to come in for my Eco.

I have used K&N filters for years and never had a problem, a couple on vehicles with 150k miles+. Already had mine for the Ecoboost the day it came home.
