Was there any cruise speed that did operate under boost? I have the 3.73 and am about 65mph at 1800 rpm. 70 mph around 1880. 65mph seems on the 3.73 seems to put out decent mpg, around the epa sticker without a headwind of course.

First post BTW. Just switched from a 5.7 Tundra.

I've seen similar comments before with scangauge on forums for other manufacturers. Chances are that it is 100% open at the maximum value you're seeing. The actual signal range does not always match the expected range.

as for the 40-60% with your foot to the floor, there may be something to gain there if it's being electronically limited but I doubt you will see much more on the top end because 73% reading could well be 100% open.

google it and you will see that it a fairly common occurrance.

my guess is you will see similar results with the 5.0 and 6.2 with respect to throttle position.

I'm guessing somewhere around 80 it will run with a little bit of boost. However, I don't think the fact that there is a little positive pressure affects the mpg nearly as much as the wind drag. It takes 50% more hp to run 80 than 70.

I did something similar with mine - except I used ScanXL and Elm 327.

I had 91 octane fuel for mine, but it was oxygenated, which may explain the slightly lean average.

Also, I was stomping on it pretty hard heading up hill. Traffic was too heavy to let it really take off

If I hadn't already cleared the computer, I would be able to post more, but i thought it might make an interesting comparison

Maximum fuel burn rate - 26.9 GPH
Maximum boost pressure - 14.1 PSI
Maximum fuel rail pressure - 1,975.4 PSI
Maximum spark advance - +40.00°
Minimum spark advance - -7.50°
Avg spark advance -- 19.03°
Maximum intake camshaft angle -- 50.4°
Minimum intake camshaft angle -- -1.0°
Average intake camshaft angle -- 14.0°
Air fuel ratio - Max -- 29.28:1
Air fuel ratio - Min -- 11.05:1
Air fuel ratio - Avg -- 16.70:1

I think it would be awesom to have a switch that could disable the Turbos for fuel milage. A steering wheel switch would be great . So if you wanted the extra performance you could light it up on demand. Kind of like a Nitous button.

That's sorta already built in. If you don't want to build boost, then just use less throttle. It won't build boost unless you load the engine up using your right foot.

Or add a load like a trailer and grade.

Do you see the torque converter locking up in second gear with your scangauge in the manual select shift mode?

Kinda on the same topic. I'm buying a edge cts for my diesel soon. It edge insight is the same thing without the tuning and it says plug in to any obd2 vehicle and it shows everything. I'm wondering if my cts will also do that on my EB once it realizes the program is not for that truck. Anyone try this yet?

The OBDII communications protocol is mostly universal. That means that the basic functions like rpm, mph, map, iat, all will work on any OBDII scanner. However, obviously, manufacturers have added things that don't fall under the standard set, like wideband, exhaust pressure, and others. What I'm saying is that if your scanner works on one OBDII vehicle, it will do most of its functions on all OBDII vehicles.

(((80/70)^3)-1)*100% = ~49% more hp. But who's counting.
