I get what's you're saying, but of course something was very wrong with your old engine which caused that to happen. Your shiny new engine shouldn't have that issue, so I wouldn't let it concern you. Just my opinion of course.

Glad to see your vacation is underway.
Let me know if you need anything else.

His old engine shouldn't have had anything wrong with it either, but it did. It is conceivable that the "shiny new engine" could fail as well. Being a little nervous about a repeat failure is understandable.

My point is to make sure it's fixed. It would suck to be a year from now and have it happen again outside of warranty.

Opinionated Blowhard
Original Ghost thread was closed. Probably due to excessive bashing of Ashley (Ford Rep). Criticism is warranted due to the situation Ghost is in. Attacking someone with limited power in handling the problem is uncalled for.
Ghost, I hope that they solve your issue to YOUR satisfaction. The dealership is obviously not up to the task of handling repair work. And for that Ford needs to evaluate their continued relationship with the owners of the dealership.
I agree with others that there are some issues that Ford is struggling to deal with probably out of fear of the cost of making a satisfactory repair to all affected vehicles. But, it costs a lot of good will (which does have a real market dollar value in the hundreds of millions of dollars) which takes years to earn back. That is something Ford needs to keep in mind as they have staked their future on GTDI engines.

I'd be fighting that one man, even if you are over the 6 years it seems like it couldn't be by much.
I'd at least try to get them to help a little with the cost.
That sucks man.
