Default HPFP Leaking Fuel into crankcase?

What are typical symptoms of an early failing and/or leaking HPFP? I'm about to just say this is my problem and order a new one before trying to diagnose any more, but wanted to get some professional opinions before dropping $300+

Main issue, rising oil level and 3% gas in oil, per Blackstone Lab results.
Changed PCV valve to the new updated one. No change.
Sometimes under a warm start condition, extended crank time (nothing crazy, just longer than normal crank)
Fuel Rail Pressure while driving ranges from 400-1800 (a few times under WOT it has tipped 2,000psi, but that's only if I try to).
Fuel Rail Pressure at idle is 200psi
Truck runs perfectly fine, minus **** poor mpg (13mpg), have not noticed any misfires. It does sound like a diesel engine at idle, but has since almost new. When listening to the HPFP with a stethoscope, it sounds horrendous, but I'm not 100% sure what it is supposed to sound like, haha.

I have 105,000 miles.

A little history about the truck. Very well maintained. WIX Oil Filters and Amsoil XL oil every 5,000 miles. WIX Air filters every 20k miles. Blackstone noted that my oil was not compromised from the gas in the oil, and my engine wear looked VERY well for an engine with this miles, but said I needed to get the fuel issue figured out.

Am I crazy for wanting to change the HPFP as an "early" preventative maintenance even if the truck is running fine? I feel like the shaft seal is leaking gas past it and directly into the crankcase but I have no way to really check that I don't believe. Just an assumption since I've never had a rising oil level issue until here recently. Anyone ever experienced this before?

I've searched and found a few people mention it, but never really reporting back to see what they ended up doing to fix the issue (like gas in oil, etc.)

I dunno, mine was replaced about 14 months ago and Blackstone says I have 1.5% fuel in my oil. They said same thing truck looks great for 142k. Did you do more than one Blackstone test or just 1?

I only done one analysis, and that's the one where I noted that the oil level actually rising on the dipstick. I'm pretty OCD when it comes to vehicle maint. and what I'm thinking is that it's in the early stages of failing, but I don't really know since there really isn't many documented cases to compared to. I keep a pretty watchful eye on what's going on with my truck, I drive on average 120miles per day so keeping on top of any issues that may arise is priority. Changing the pump seems to be super easy to change. If they were not $350 I would have already changed it. Hard to spend that on it when just last month was when I paid the truck off and not convinced 100% there is an issue with that part.

I would do another analysis after 5k on fresh oil. See what it says.

Does your oil smell like fuel?

Yes, oil smells like gasoline. After 5k miles the oil level reaches the bottom of the "S" bend of the dipstick.

I thought I read in another thread that users dealer let oil drain over night and then next morning turn vehicle on to prime the fuel system w/o starting and see if any fuel/oil started to drain again. Not sure if this would work with plunger not moving, but is certainly an option.

My dealer performed that procedure on my truck. Results were negative but they still replaced the HPFP. Still had fuel in oil. Then replaced all injectors. Still have fuel in oil. Between 4 and 6% every change with most changes with 600 to 1200 miles on the oil. Smells of gas within 200 miles of change.

Bringing this back from the dead.

Have noticed on a fairly regular basis if I turn the truck off for 30 minutes, it takes an extended crank to get started. Truck drives normal otherwise. Have 112k miles on it now. Have dropped my oil changes down to 3,000miles and this last change when I put 6qts it was right at the middle of the dipstick two months ago (between the two holes in the dipstick). When I changed oil this past Saturday, the oil level was at the top hole, so.... about a half quart high? Which is pretty much all gasoline.

Fuel pressures while driving haven't changed. I'm just assuming it's normal?

My truck threw code P072..system running to rich..
Dealer replaced HPFP over a year ago (20,000) km.
Truck is now back at the shop with same P072 code and all the same issues.
Fluctuating fuel rail pressure, rising oil levels on dipstick, smells like raw fuel, runs like ****..and ****ty gas mileage too..
Dealership is leaning toward new injectors..
