I hear ya buddy woke up in a cold sweat and ran to the window to make sure my truck didn't burst over night.

The sad part about the American truck makers is they all have issues and bad parts, bad trans, bad engines and bad electronics, bad brakes, bad steering, bad gears etc, etc, etc,. We complain about FORD but who can you go to assure you buy a problem free truck. Chevy-nope, Ram-nope, Toyota-nope,Nissan-nope. If you go to each forum you can read similar threads as we post on here. May not always be the same issues but there issues just the same. Buying a truck today is a like winning the lottery. If you just happen to buy the right truck that was built with non-defective parts, and the factory workers had there coffee and was focused on your truck coming down the line then you might get a winner. This is why they offer a factory warranty because they know there trucks will have issues and will try and fix and send you back on the road. 100 years of truck making and they don't make them any more reliable than the Model T. But Ford still makes the best looking, most solidly built truck today. We are all gluttens for punishment because we keep coming back for more, at least the last 33 years worth..

Your mistake was putting out the fire the first time. Just sit back and watch it burn for a few minutes. That will take care of any repairs. =-O

I think yours is the 4th blown ecoboost posted here maybe 5th. Not exactly earth shattering bad.

Were you tuned?

That's what I told the ford I shouldn't have put it out but my camper was hooked to it and I didn't think I had time to unhook! No tune.the next one will be a 6.2 hopefully it will have decent towing power in the f150.T he ecoboost spoiled me for towing I'm pretty sure there isn't a v8 gasser out there that will tow like the Eco.but the engine has to last more than 30 k!

Almost exactly what I was going to type.

I live in the high desert so moisture isn't really a problem. However I travel to other states that have a lot of moisture so I plan on drilling a hole in the IC to hopefully remove any condensation before it gets blown in the engine. I do believe that folks that have had repeated water ingestion issues have probably damaged their engine to some degree. There are also cases where stuff just gets loose or the metallurgy wasn't quite right or just outright bad luck.

No way, man. The ecoboost is the only engine that ever fails. Even the paint and wind noise problems stem from the ecoboost engine, if you're paying close attention to the forum.

So we've heard of four or five that have exploded? And how many ecoboost motors are on the road? About?

Brand new motors blow up in less than five hundred miles if you watch Nascar. Don't abuse your motor.
