He's already been told that his truck is worth less on trade in because its a "POS lemon". Just going by what Ghost said in his original post. So he's not going to get a decent deal if he were to trade it in, unless Ford steps in and tells the dealership to give him full market value.

I've worked at dealerships as well and have seen service departments flag serial numbers. If that happens any ford dealer will get the history.
Prime example, a customer was seen drag racing his car at a track by a dealer principle and on Monday it was in for warranty valve repairs.
Serial number was flagged and warranty terminated, only a few clicks on the keyboard.
You also need to remember, this is Canada. We don't have 17 dealers in every city or a few minutes away. I'm going to bet the service people at all the dealers around ghost know about his truck. Ghost can tell you how far it is to Vernon, kelowna, salmon arm or other ford dealers.

I've tried 3 dealers. 2 said pos lemon (albeit in a different fashion from one another) one wasn't even interested until truck was fixed.

It's also a bit hard to do any dealing when your truck can't hold an engine in it. Make some contact to work out a deal, leave site for home, motor blown on way home, call dealer and say sorry can't make it.

Id say either way at this point I will be getting out of that truck and the edge and never driving a ford again. As my customer service rep says that's my right as a consumer.

Also I guess ford offered me a rental vehicle for 441 a week. They called around and found that deal for me. So basically I'd get 350 bucks out of ford and then what pay the rest? I'd also like to note this offer came after I'd already left for work. A week after the last engine blew and that they had known my work schedule all along.

Ford has done absolutely nothing for me other than what they have to do by law as per their warranty agreement. End of story.

As it has. At least you guys know that there's more to this story. What? I really don't know.

Put down your tin foil hats, people. This is a sticky situation and there's TONS of details that get posted here and some that don't.

This truck will get fixed. It's really not Fords fault that the replacement engines failed. It's likely the dealers fault due to improper/missing diagnosis and just throwing engines at it. Ghosts issues will be set straight and assuming he uses another dealer for his new purchase (even another Ford dealer that hasn't been involve in this dilemma)), his trade in value isn't effected. The dealers won't check warranty claim status. I've worked in enough dealers to know that.

I'll also say that I'm not stopping Ghost from starting another update thread. It will no have anything else in it unless its CONGRATS!!!1! or something along those lines.
Lenn, I have to ask. If you didn't really know anything why did you say something to begin with? Was it just to point out to the forum that you know something they don't know to make you sound more important and in the loop? So you purposely posted something you really didn't know anything about that wasn't your information to post just to stir up the forum. Are you a petty officer or a little old lady gossiping over the back fence?

For someone who would be in a leadership position of some sort (i.e. PO3) you don't understand something very basic about leadership. Allow a Sgt of Marines to instruct you.

It is Fords fault. It all lies at the feet of FoMoCo. Why you might ask? Because that is what taking responsibility for your company means. If I had a Marine under me do something god awful stupid it was my fault. Not because I did it, but because I failed that Marine though not enough training or counseling or the myriad of other means available to me to make sure my Marines performed their job and did not do stupid things. Leadership means taking ownership of all of the good and the bad. Clearly FoMoCo did not ensure that the dealerships had the proper training available to their techs and to their GMs to make sure that even if a tech made this type of mistake it was handled in a way it would not blow up like it has. And seriously, if it wasn't FoMoCo fault, why would they be involved now?

Ghost, good luck with the truck and FoMoCo. Hope this works out for you.

Well damn Ghost that changes everything! Hey everyone put down the pitchforks and torches, Ford was going to pay for part of a rental after Ghost had already had to depart long distance for work. Ford is ever so helpful and nice

#5 Post #100 of original thread, a salesman quoted 5k less than what was requested for trade-in value.
Original thread post 100, "Here's a direct quote from a ford salesman regarding my truck and me saying its worth at least 40 in trade.

Well 40 won't happen anywhere. Unfornunately u have a lemon. But your problem will become our problem, so we will wholesale this piece. Having said that, $33,000 to $35,000 is what I got. $40000 just isn't going to happen, it being on its third engine

How is this fair to me? F sakes."

Original thread post 1, "I found these responses really disturbing. My truck is a 2012 King Ranch. It had a sticker price of 67 thousand on the window. I also purchased extended bumper to bumper warranty to 180 thousand Kms. I obviously didn't pay anywhere near 67 for it. I'm just making a point."

Even if those numbers are accurate, it is still 5k below trade in and that was before the third engine blew! Would you be happy with that? Is it fair this truck go back on the market to some unsuspecting buyer? This truck has a serious defect that has yet to be diagnosed nor fixed by multiple dealerships, and Ford to this point seems to have done nothing, well dispatched an engineer.

Original thread post 195, "Ford offers 35 dollars per day towards a rental to a maximum of 7 days. Like I've maintained all along I should of know what the warranty stated and that's my fault. I do feel after engine number 2 ford can take their agreements and stuff em squarely in their ***."

Have you tried to rent a vehicle for $35 a day? And this is only for 7 days! How long have they had his vehicle? If you really think this is satisfactory I don't know what to tell you. Even if this is what the warranty states, this attests to the fact that Ford does not stand behind their product. This is laughable at best.

Now number 3 is an opinion, and I stated that in the comment!

How is number 2 an opinion? Did the Ford rep not insert herself into the discussion? Did she not say she was limited in her ability? Sounds like a fact to me.

I am at least glad we can agree his truck has been through 3 engines and going on his 4th!

Either way I'm not gonna "fan the flames" anymore.

I just really didn't like the comments regarding me not telling the whole truth.

I'm nobody but I do encourage everyone to respect the mods and admins of this site while you're in their house so to speak. They could very easily make threads disappear and ban a bunch I people. They haven't done that.

My friend, I truly hope that you attain some sort of closure after your ordeal. I don't know the details of your misfortune like some others claim to, but I believe you paid for a working truck and should have a working truck. Period.

Regardless of what has been said on these threads, you deserve a resolution. Focus on you and your needs. No one else has the right to be upset about this ordeal but you. I know many mean well, but they let emotions get in the way of logic.

Again, I hope you find peace in this awful situation quickly.

I wouldn't like it either. If I were you the next flame that I'd fan would involve one that would get me to an attorney. If nothing else, to find out if there is anything that can be done to recoup the exacerbated depreciation.
