For instance, some of the newer dozers, the trans has three speeds but you can select 5. 1.5, 2.5, 3.5 use all avalible engine rpm, 2.0 and 3.0 use the same gear as 2.5 and 3.5 but less rpm for fuel savings, but stay in the fat part of the torque curve. I had two that in 3.5 reverse would randomly decide WOT had no rev limiter. Flashing the stock file again did nothing, randomly it repeated. One blew the engine when the operator freeked and didn't step on the throttle to stop it (dozer's throttle is backwards let off is more), ECM replacement was the only way to stop it.

The engineers when I called thought the operators were full of **** until I caught it on a datalog.

This truck will get fixed. It's really not Fords fault that the replacement engines failed. It's likely the dealers fault due to improper/missing diagnosis and just throwing engines at it. Ghosts issues will be set straight and assuming he uses another dealer for his new purchase (even another Ford dealer that hasn't been involve in this dilemma)), his trade in value isn't effected. The dealers won't check warranty claim status. I've worked in enough dealers to know that.

I'll also say that I'm not stopping Ghost from starting another update thread. It will no have anything else in it unless its CONGRATS!!!1! or something along those lines.
Lenn I agree totally

Sure except I'm a truthful human being and ford has not offered anything. Not even a free oil change. If the dealers can't fix the truck then that's ok. At some point someone needs to say enough is enough. Also I don't control the quality of fords dealer service techs. If ford actually did contact Lenn to say I'm not being truthful I'd say they're the liars. I also asked them to provide what details I've left out. They're free to post here or pm me and "remind" me.

Also reading that again in Canada the first thing a dealer does is run the vin to see what's been done to your vehicle. They will knock cash off the trade value if the vehicle hasn't been maintained etc.

No fanning of flames though as far as my truck goes. More making an observation on all this. I'm happy to drive my truck (at least a little) and see what happens.

The way I see it ford needs to take responsibility for its dealers, it should not be on its 4th engine. A competent dealer would have had the problem fixed a long time ago.

It is called shifting the blame. Ford writes the warranty, they build the trucks, the dealer is a distributor for them. Sure they can carry out warranty repairs but they can't do warranty work that Ford doesn't approve. So yeah, how's it not ford's responsibility to be sure a man gets what he paid for ??

That's why I don't understand the people on here saying it's not Fords fault because the dealer should have done a full engine replacement the first time. Or the second time. When in reality, the dealer replaces what Ford tells them to replace. Does anyone really think either dealer just decided on their own what they would replace and hope that Ford covers it under warranty? We've all read about or dealt with warranty repairs, when the dealer won't even replace a door handle without first asking Ford what to do. In Ghost's case, the dealers told Ford about the damage, and Ford told the dealers what to replace. If the dealers screwed up the work while replacing those blocks, then that is on them, but not the limited repair decisions.

The dealer did a longblock and turbos the first time. Second time I'm unsure as there's no record in fords system and I don't have paperwork.

you should always walk out the door with your truck in hand and all paperwork.

btw, you gonna follow through and sue in small claims for 25000 bucks?

i think you should. you can represent yourself too, which makes things cheaper for you.
