Except on my truck that made it run like ****, and I lost a lot of money selling the X3 tuner as fast as I could remove it from my truck.

Apparently you didn't try to work out the problem. All you had to do was call the man.

Question. Why the need to tune a brand new truck? And does "tuning" a new truck do anything to the new vehicle Ford warranty?

Well I am glad I looked at this. I just got a '14 FX4 Eco and was looking for a CAI and tune. Looks like I do not need the CAI from what people are saying (which is weird since most vehicles like CAI's) and just get a tune. So is there a tuner that is located in Oklahoma or Dallas Texas that I could go to because dyno tuning is the only way to go.

Actually the last part of that, with an stock truck just looking for a tune, isn't exactly true.

With the SCT you can get a custom tune built by many different vendors here, take the tune and install it, then get out a computer and datalog the tune they send you out on the street and driving around, and then email it back to the tuner to make it even more specific to your needs.

A dyno isn't going to simulate every day driving and other variables that you will see out there, so I prefer the mail route. I've had cars tuned on dynos and built 1000+hp cars and in those situations, absolutely dyno tune. With a truck like this and with the way these tuning companies have it figured out, no hesitation in going that route.

MPT of course gets my vote, but there are lots of others out there that do great stuff too

I've went both routes as well, unless you have a max modded motor you are wasting your time on the dyno tune. Pretty much stock motor the email custom tunes gain just as much hp and Tq and are usually more driveable as well.

I just tried my first lease and I too switched from a 5.0 (2012) to a 2014 FX4 Eco.
Do any of you that lease tune your trucks? My dealer told me anything goes unless I mess with the emissions system ( they actually said catalytic converters). They said a level and window tint are fine just as long as I understand I will not likely recoup mods when I turn it in.
Not trying to hijack but I seen the OP mentioned he leased the 5.0. I assume he rolled into the new one as a lease.

What they don't know won't hurt them.

I've heard good things about Torrie unleashed Tuning and Eric let, but I am not tuned yet.. When I decide to tune it will most likely be a 93 performance tune from LET bc he is a vendor on another forum and for the support.
