I tried a search, but can't find anything on this specific subject, sorry if I missed it.

I'm looking for a tune that will specifically target better MPG, not concerned that much for hp or tq.

I've seen people report back with better mpg, +1, +2 or so, but just as a side note to a performance tune. Is there anyone out there that is writing a specific mpg tune?

I saw some good results with the 87 economy tune from superchips. Went from 20.7mpg hwy stock tune to 22.5-22.8 tuned.

Since then I've installed the 87 perf/tow tune from 5star, and haven't put enough miles on to tell yet. Mike at 5star is developing economy tunes now for the ecoboost, and my bet is that his are going to be the best.

Awesome. Thanks for the info. That is exactly what I am waiting for. I've read great reviews on his tunes, once he gets the economy tunes developed, I'm in.

If you check back, how do you like that exhaust????

I really like the 4" exhaust. Sucked at first though, the drone gave me headaches. I added a 4" resonator to the system and it got rid of the drone completely. Sounds a lot better than stock. With stock exhaust, the highest MPG I had seen was 19, but my MPG immediately went to 20.7 hwy just by installing that exhaust with stock tuning.

I'm going to order from 5 Star tomorrow. Trying to decide which 3 custom tunes to get. I definitely want the 87 Perf/Tow tune and the 93 Perf/Tow tune. For the last one, I'm trying to decide between the 89 Perf/Tow tune and the 87 Economy tune.

I'm leaning towards the Economy tune, just to have for a long trip or something. My only concern would be any lack of power or boost. Do you think his Economy tune will simply tweak the engine to get better mileage without a sacrifice of the stock power OR will there be a noticeable drop in HP and TQ to get a measurable mpg increase?

I can't speak for 5star economy (not out yet) but the superchips economy tune you could definitely feel a loss in power compared to the 87 tune. But, the economy tune did have more power than stock. Well worth it if you're looking for better mpg.
