Fumoto drain valve

Which Fumoto drain valve ( type with nipple) do I need for a 2011 5.0. Thanks

TJPlatinumEB 04-11-2012 10:42 AM

Just search "Fumoto Valve" on Google and you will be taken to this page:

http://www.qwikvalve.com/

Choose your vehicle options and you will see that the part you need is 107N which has the nipple on it.

FYI the EB uses the same one as well.

You will not need the extra adapter that the ecoboost needs to clear the pan.

Great valve, I run it on my powerstroke, love it.

I got the F-107N and installed 36" clear vinyl hose, so I can drain right into the bucket. Works great, and money well spent.

I bought mine a couple months ago. Can't wait to get it installed and use it.

I must have been living under a rock for all these years...

I had one on my duramax. It made oil changes very clean and very easy.

I'll put one on my Eco once the first oil change is due.

energie 04-12-2012 10:22 PM

Never ever seen these on any of the vehicles I've worked on

BoostedFitz 04-12-2012 10:51 PM

Had one my old powerstroke. They are great.

L454S 04-13-2012 04:18 AM

Just got 2 of these last week. One for the truck and one for the Mustang(both 3.7). Wait for oil change times now.

gasbrnr 04-15-2012 11:12 PM

Does the Ecoboost need the extra adapter for the Fumoto valve or not? Looks like their web site calls for it.

Thanks

sluggo1 04-15-2012 11:50 PM

Genius idea. Never knew these existed. Heard oil changes on Eco are a pain and messy. This gizmo with tube should solve all that. Can anyone else confirm if the extra piece is needed or not for the Eco. As stated before their website calls for it.

TJPlatinumEB 04-16-2012 10:26 AM

I can 100% confirm that the extra adapter pieces is NOT needed for the EcoBoost. I installed mine myself a few months ago and like the website said, I ordered it with the adapter. It fits perfectly fine without the adapter and if I wasn't at work right now, I would gladly take a picture and show how it fits without.

The adapter is meant for oil pans that have a recessed area where the drain plug fits and the EB does not have this issue or pan style so it isn't needed.

I had one on my last car, 2009 Pontiac G8 GT, my wifes car a 2010 Edge, my EB F150, and just ordered one for my Supra that I am currently building to avoid the hassle of the nightmare of an oil change that goes along with that car too :)

Thanks, appreciate the help:thumbsup:

Had them on all my diesels they are awesome!!!

Hit or miss in certain markets.

They make changing oil clean and easy. If you offroad, safety wire is your friend.

I use a plug (hose with silicone over the end) and hose clamp for added security and also keeps the ball valve inside clean. I use the one with nipple, no drain pan needed just storage container.

Not needed. I ordered it as suggested by the website and it didn't even fit. It hit a transmission cooler line. I emailed them and they said they would correct their webpage, but obviously that is not the case.

They then also said I could send it back for a refund. Really? It would cost me the same to ship the dang things back.

The valve itself is super slick. Used it with the last oil change...first time to get the use of it. With the hose attached, can't get any easier and CLEANER on your hands...and it really encourages driving a super hot engine right into the garage and flipping the valve as soon as you park it...nice and hot flowing oil.

Going to have to steal that idea from you

Stupid question but you just slide the hose onto the nipple when you are ready to do the oil change right? Or can you leave the hose attached and just tuck it up inside somewhere?

realaxed83 04-25-2012 05:21 AM

I have one of these and they are great!

sluggo you could do either and be fine, I personally just slide the hose on and off.....it stays in my tool box.

Sorry, late to the response on this one.

I pull it off and leave it on my oil drain pan and just put it back on the next time. It slides on and off easily, but firmly attached...so it won't kick off when draining either.

sluggo1 04-25-2012 08:54 PM

okay great..thanks..just had my first oil change done..freebie at dealer and as expected they left a mess..area above skid plate had residual oil that was from either removal of the filter or when they drained it..this valve will make it easier and cleaner I assume. now to just find a easier and cleaner way of removing the filter for when I go to do it myself for the first time.

ElCid04 04-26-2012 03:35 PM

Anyone know if any auto parts stores carry these, or something like them? I am planning on changing my EB oil for the first time this weekend and dont want to wait for shipping...

gasbrnr 04-26-2012 04:11 PM

Fumoto/quick drain valve is the only one I would use! Wait until you get the good valve, don't use the cheap auto parts store valve. Just takes three or four days.

Just the answer I was searching for. Had one on the Dmax, Need one for the new truck now. Do you have skid plates?

GM Guy 11-01-2012 09:14 AM

3 models

Their website only shows three valves, F107, F107S and F107N. One without any nipple, one with a short nipple and one with a long nipple.

What do you mean when you talk about the extra adapter?? Didn't see any adapter mentioned in the ad. Are you are talking about the nipple?

Norotso 03-28-2013 12:58 PM

Can anyone confirm that the F107N will work with factory skid plates?

I don't have skid-plates. It points straight horizontally and doesn't project below the oil pan. The swaybar and frame cross beam are well below that, so I can't see how it would cause any interference with the skid plate. I have the tubing gently tie-wrapped to the frame.

Also, note the convenient "storage" to cap the tubing end. The sway bar bolt is the perfect size to terminate the tubing. I just pull it off the bolt to drain into the drain pan, then plug it again.

Very good thinking. I got the extened service package from the dealer. When that is up, I will be doing your exact set-up.
Thanks for posting.

Got mine in the mail on Friday, goes on sometime this month. Love this little device...

Pacific fisher, is that the long or short nipple? Thanks for posting the picture.

millwrat 08-08-2014 12:57 PM

Getting ready to order one for the Ecoboost.

http://www.qwikvalve.com/fumoto-f107n-valve.html

Since the qwik-valve site has buy 2 and get free shipping, is there somewhere else a Fumoto (preferably with a nipple) could be used? Really like the idea of a flex drain tube with extra clamp.

Maybe something besides the 3/8" vinyl tubing for chemical and heat tolerance...

Factory or aftermarket transmission, transfer case, radiator, differential etc?

papa tiger 08-10-2014 03:49 PM

Knowing squirrels give them a couple generations an they will learn how to drain. Lol.

millwrat 09-16-2014 05:20 PM

5% off Fumoto valves w/coupon fall14 (qwik-valve site) + free shipping for 2+

They also sell a locking clip for a couple bucks to prevent accidental draining.

winchested 09-17-2014 08:25 PM

Neat item but not paying $22.50 US for shipping something that would fit in a little pouch.

Locking clip didn't work for me on my 12'! Wasn't enough room to install it!:censored:
