Polution Control Valve and they have been on engines since the 60s. The problem is the oil mist that ends up in the intake system, but I believe it is more an issue on short trips which is bad for engines anyway and worse for the Ecoboost.

Pcv=positive crankcase ventilation. The problem with the ecoboost is that it doesn't work properly under boost. There is probably 30 + threads that will explain this problem in detail if you want to know more

OK now that we have the right acronym or meaning of the acronym......The more I read things the more I think the ecoboost is a poorly designed engine yet I have had no major issues. Why have I not seen them F.O.R.D. as some are suggesting. More reading for me or less I guess.

Most people don't have an issue with it. I haven't either.

This PCV stuff was created by somebody selling a $400 fix. Some folks believe it, others don't. While I don't doubt the pcv system is sub-optimal, the classic problems only happen after cruising in the rain followed by heavy acceleration, and the pcv system has nothing to do with rain!

I'd bet 1\3 of people with the condensation issue actually had bad plugs. That is one thing we know go bad fast, if they were right to start with. Lots of 2011-12s came badly gapped from Ford.

Yes you can - I have both on my truck. All the Wagner connections are in the stock location.
