Actually, what he's talking about is 100% possible. It's already well known that bluetooth can be hacked, never mind the possibility that your bluetooth phone can be infected and possibly infect your truck.

This possibility is common to ALL new vehicles, however, and shouldn't be part of a purchase decision.

I am not "too proud" to "admit" problems with my 2011 EB. My paint is flawless (no orange peel or fish eyes, and no missed spots either). My gas mileage is within the eange promised, and there have been zero problems with rattles or squeaks. My truck weighs over 7000 pounds, and pulls like an elephant. The only "problem" I have with my transmission is the familiar "bump stop" in first gear. The fact that this problem disappeared after the dealer reset the adaptive learning tells me it is not a mechanical defect.

oh i had no doubt its possible, just about anything technical today can be hacked. but like you said, this shouldn't affect someone's purchase decision. the chances of it happening to you are one in a million, so i was surprised he's really concerned by that.

Yep. Weight on the commercial scale (with me on board) was 7010 pounds. Leaves me about 600 pounds for passengers and cargo, which is all I need.

But gas mileage at 68mph has plunged to mpg

You want me to scan and post the receipt I got from the cops at the scale?

Yes, my EB is a work truck and it has a 3/4 inch plywood box liner and a steel reinforced topper with ladder racks and ladders. In the bed is a steel "roller coaster" which allows me to drop the tailgate and roll the bed cargo out where I can reach it. This is all before I load up my tools and equipment, which includes a full-sized shop vac and all the other stuff a painting contractor requires daily.

The topper and liner (without loading) comes in around 450 pounds. The steel coaster bed is about 250. I weigh 225. So right there--without tools or ladders--we're at 925.

....And when I put my foot into the accelerator, this EB boogies, 7000 pounds or not. You wouldn't beiieve it!
