Ford hasnt stated power for the Eco Raptor other than that it will be more than the 6.2, they have said that the GT will be over 600hp though...but both will run a completely new engine that has nothing in common with the current 3.5EB other than displacement so it really isnt a valid comparison.

The point is both engines are under rated as is and the tune from ford is very mild with tremendous room to up power with a few computer strokes. The 5.0 responds well to a tune and is under rated.

And yes the existing Eco can easily exceed 600 ft lbs torque at crank...

My 2011 F150 XLT with it's 5STAR 87 Octane tune shifts at 6500 rpm when foot is to the floor, and it pulls strong all the way.

I am not sure where the original op got his numbers. But the Mustang GT from 1982 (When the Boss was back) had the following HP ratings.
1982 157 HP
1983-1984 175 HP
1985 205 HP
1986 200 HP (reduction due to change to fuel injection)
1987-1993 225 HP
1994-1995 215 HP (Last years of the 302 Windsor. HP reduction due to new lower intake to clear the SN95 hood)
1996-1997 215 HP (first years for the Module 4.6)
1998 225 HP
1999-2004 260 HP

5.0 is my choice also for power....i much rather have an V8...with the Mustang having the 5.0 I just think parts are more plentiful and Less expensive...i realize that the ecoboost is fords baby and they can push big power too......... think......what if ford did the same with the 5.0?? What would that beast be like??

I believe the OP is dead on, as a tuner I look at the mustang 2011-2015 timing tables for wot and they where messed with in the sct software. The timing tables for the f150s where not touched at all, only cam timing. The stock timing tables are way different to but I can run the mustang ones without any knock. Ford purposely crippled it.

So I have have started to run the timing table off the 2011 mustang in my f150 on e85 (I havent dynoed it yet but before I did this I was able to squeeze out 33rwhp over stock with just a tune/cam timing)

The truck is a whole new beast, I raced a 2014 ls 460 the other day and truck was about 2 cars ahead of him, mind you those cars are good for 14.1-14.5.
