That would be a steal if true! You can't hardly find cheap dino oil at that price.

$14???? Please tell me what dealer that is, because that is cheaper than synthetic blend from a pumper

Can you tell me where you're getting this information from? My dealer said that it comes with synthetic blend from the factory and that I should continue to do so. When it comes time for my first oil change (whenever the manual says to have it done), I plan on having it done at the dealer with what Ford recommends.

Found this from the owner's manual. Ford says either/or can be used:

•Motorcraft SAE 5W-30
Premium Synthetic Blend
Motor Oil (US)
•Motorcraft SAE 5W-30 Full
Synthetic Motor Oil (US)
•Motorcraft SAE 5W-30
Super Premium Motor Oil
(Canada)
•Motorcraft SAE 5W-30
Synthetic Motor Oil
(Canada)

He has a 5.0 and i highly doubt a full synthetic oil change with 8 qts of oil cost $46

You do realize Synthetic is petroleum based right?? The Process to get it from the Oil well to your engine is different. It's more pure than conventional mineral oil and has different additives etc....

So If you are getting free oil changes I think I would take advantage of them and not worry about paying the extra to extend the time between changes.

By the Way Motorcraft licenses the Label on the Jug, Bottle or barrel they don't make the oil.

Is that why i have known more people that run full synthetic that have problems with there motor than people who run just normal oil and dont waste there money on that bull****? And also petroleum based stuff degrades latex so imagine wht it does to your rubber seals.

Per this YouTube video below from Mobil1, they say it is a myth that you shouldn't ever switch back to conventional from synthetic. It is around the 3 min. mark.

I personally have the dealer change my oil (today actually) with the Motorcraft Synblend. I do tow occasionally (nothing heavy) and don't hotshot around too much so to me there is no benefit to full synthetic. As long as you change your oil properly, a synthetic blend will work just fine for most people. If you tow alot, I would use full synthetic.

Synthetic motor oil will not damage the seals in your engine....unless your engine is about 30 years old....modern engines of today perform and will last along time using full syn. oil........if it damaged your engine seals why in the world would oil companies spend the time and effort to even produce such a product.....todays engines are perfect for synthetic oil.
