The first time my Eco blew up......

A Virginia Drifter
I don't post here often but this forum has been very valuable to me over the years. Trucks are mechanical, and mechanical things break. Places like this help the shade tree guy fix his mechanical issues at home. They also allow us to see what other ford enthusiast experience, both the good and the bad.
Ford has lost a life long customer over this. I was set to sign the papers on a new Ecoboost today, but I just couldn't do it. What has happened here kept going through my mind. There are horror stories about every brand on every brand forum, but nothing like this. This thread is quite possibly the craziest thing I have ever read in any truck related forum over the last 15 years. I printed off a copy of this thread, handed it to the finance guy and drove over to the Dodge lot. I haven't decided on which truck yet, but it will be a Dodge. I told the new sales guy why I came in and referenced this thread again, he said in his 25 years in sales, he had never heard of anything like it either. The whole episode is unbelievable.
I know Ashley is here to help, but really she has only made it worse. We have an official ford rep posting here verifying everything the OP has told us! The story almost sounds to far fetched to be true and without Ashley, it would be very tough to believe. If Ford is reading this, do the right thing. Send out one of your high priced execs to the oil patch in a new truck and personally apologize to the OP. It is the only way this story has a happy ending now. It would also go a long ways in letting the public know that this is not the way Ford wants to treat its customers. I want to believe that this has happened due to a breakdown in communication somewhere, right? Can this really be company policy?

What I put in bold in futurerancher post is the only thing that I would consider appropriate action by Ford. And I don't mean in the near future, I mean giving him a new truck right now. Plus some compensation for all the he has gone through.
I think I'm going to go play on the Ram build and price site now instead of Fords.
Good luck Ghost.

I have always loved fords growing up in a gm predominant family. I am beginning to hate ford now.
Glad this is spreading to other forums. Like a wildfire.
Ford fu**ed up big time on this one. Don't buy stock! Hah.

I think it's good that is spreading, too. Ford needs to understand the seriousness of this issue and fix it. Ghost deserves credit toward whatever he wants...maybe not another truck.
What I am amazed at is how out of touch some of the dealerships are.

This thread has gotten ridiculous. Would be great if someone would PM me when there is an update, but this mindless bashing is getting old. If nobody bought a product from a company that has made a bad decision the economy wouldn't exist.

I'm not making any excuses for Ford or brand loyal by any means but if GM were the only vehicles left to buy on this planet I'd go Amish and get a horse and buggy before GM sees another nickle of my money. Please don't hate on my opinion.
Yeah it seems this issue is starting to spread like wildfire bad word of mouth is more damaging then anything. The longer they twiddle their fingers the worse it will get and anything short of an absoulte new truck and appology is unacceptable at this point. The constant "we'll get back to you" run around has to end now. It's ironic how all these 1 time posters are hearing about this thread being linked across other vehicle enthusiasts boards. The power of the internet is force to be reckoned with things like this get embedded in peoples mind for time to come when shopping for a new vehicle not just an F150 this bad experience reflects on the Ford brand. Shame on them.

Mindless bashing? Really?
You don't think Ford is deserving any of the bashing we've been doling out in this thread? The guy is going on his 4th engine! This is asinine and inexcusable that Ford won't get him out of that truck and into a new one. Like what has been pointed out...in Ghost's truck the engines wear out quicker than the oil...
