That's a bit vague. Something got sucked into the engine and caused the engine to "self destruct"?

Air to fuel mixture (MAF/MAP sensor?) making it run lean and melting the pistons? IDK!

The "intake" was the only thing not previously changed I guess.

Jalopnik just got back to me. Might do a story.

Came here from the car lounge. Lotta members there seeing this. I was going to say that yeah you should try and get jalopnik or auto log involved. Two easy angles for this. One is obviously the horrible treatment you've received from both ford and dealerships. The other is how direct to consumer like tesla would have cleared up most of this red tape and fighting I'm sure ford is doing with that stealership on who will do what. Good luck.

Intake, cracked or gasket leaked, ran too lean and melted plugs and who knows what else. Guess that's why they wanted it back at the last dealer to do a comeback to the repair mechanic. This way he would be pissed off and do an even worse job and damage your truck even more.
I was a ford tech for over 20 years and I saw this attitude a lot when it was a comeback on the mechanic. I feel for you sir and you have been way patient with all this.

So what about the shop that did the first replacement? They're only a few minutes from where my truck is now.

I can't help but wonder if the high ups even understand the extent of this.

My truck has been abused more by ford service than myself. They're the ones leaving dents, stains, and run of the mill electrical tape all over it.

There's also no way I'd ever agree to send my truck back to that dealer after the service I got from them. The fact she even asked me to do that tells me a lot.
