Exactly! You can pull up the product sheets on any oil from their website. I looked at Mobil 1 5W20 Advanced Full Synthetic Engine Oil Typical properties and then searched and read its warranty. Interval Says 15,000 miles or one year. But it also states to follow your Owners Manual Recommendations and Oil life monitor if equipped so you don't void your warranty. I pulled up Motorcraft 5W20 Synthetic-Blend and its typical properties were pretty close to the Mobil 1. I think they are both very good oils from what I read. Some of the other synthetic brands claim 10,000 mile protection but require you to change your oil at earlier intervals for their warranty protection,LOL.

If you want to know if your oil works send it to black stone labs...other than that nothing else is truth...

"I change my oil at every 3,000 miles because that's how I've always done it."

Wow, great way to take the "Eco" out of ecoboost. I mean you buy a vehicle that has an engine designed to save the environment on gas and oil and save you money in the process. Brought to you by the latest in design and technology, then you dump all of that down the drain by prematurly changing you oil? I don't understand why you purchased an Ecoboost instead of the 6.2L?

I use Shell Rotella 5w30 in my 2.5L turbo with 400hp @ 5,000 mi intervals!

My Ford dealer used Motorcraft 5w20 semisyn on my first oilchange at 9000km (5600miles). That was done in September when it was still decently warm here (In northern Alberta). On Wednesday this week at 18000km (11250 miles) the temp is now -20C, I did my own change and went to Mobil1 0w20 synthetic. Sure starts up without a grumble... its ExxonMobil's fuel economy blend, so will see if it helps the mileage at all. Hardest thing on fuel economy is this cold weather, and the amount of ethanol being blended into all the fuels to keep them from freezing up. The truck sure like being treated to premium... can tell an instant difference in response, and even a slight increase in fuel economy by the instant mpg monitor. Just my $0.02.

I thought the manual called for 5W30 oil not 5W20.

I agree, why are you guys using 5w20? The manual is pretty clear that the EB uses 5w30.

The owners guide on page 378 calls for 5w-30, the dealer who does my oil changes use 5-w20 Motorcraft full synthetic. My first oil change was done at the dealer after 7500 miles on the truck. I asked for full synthetic oil and got 100 plus bill, I live in SOCAL! To avoid the same 100 bill i decided to do my own oil. I used Mobil 1 full synthetic 5w-20 (6) quarts and Napa gold filter. Is anyone doing the same. My main concern is the oil filter!

I still don't understand why you are using 5W20. Why didn't you just buy 5W30 Mobil1? The dealer put the wrong oil in.

And if the dealer is using 5w20, like they are going to void your warranty? How could an engine fail from 5w20 oil vs 5w30 oil being used?
I was told as long as the oil had the API starburst logo on it that it was OK?
