Default Finally.... over 24 MPG on a 3.7 !

Well.... kinda anyway........ I have 13,000 miles on a 2011 Screw w/ 3.7 and 3.73 rear........ biggest disapointment has been less than desired hiway mileage........ does OK around town, but not much over 20 MPG on the hiway and if you push it over the 2,000 RPM line, it will deliver less than 20 ! So today, I was driving on a nice open rural road, mostly flat, and had to go about 50 miles ..... si I did a reset and was driving at about 1450-1500 RPM getting about 52 MPH showing..... and was able to see 24.2 MPG show up on the onboard computor! It was nice to actually achieve that mark...... but it dropped back to 21.1 as soon as i went thru town.... back to 23 when I ran the last 20 miles.......

oldphart, looks like we have the same set-up. My SCREW w/ 4200 on the odo will do 24 at 55 mph on a highway with rolling hills. Last trip of approx. 250 miles one way with 55 and 70 mph zones it turned in a 23. At a solid 70 mph with A/C running driving Hwy. 95 south to Florida it showed 21. It's hard to figure why the difference between the two trucks. In town is a different story. Anywhere from 14.5 to 15.5 mpg is the best it will do. But we do have a stoplight at every crossroad it seems. I like you was dissapointed at first, but I just figured it's a big ***** land yacht that rides like a Caddy with the interior of a bus. And, it does a ton better than my last F150.

If I had it to do over would I get the V8? Yes. But for now I'll enjoy this one until the next generation hits the lots.

on my last few vehicles (even my 06 f150) the MPG was always within .2MPG. with these new trucks, it was as off as much as 1.2MPG. you should hand calc that 21MPG. it might be really closer to 23mpg.

I get exactly what the sticker says, 17 in town and 23 on the highway, although much of my city driving is 40 mph with a few lights, but I floor it a lot also. If a V8 matches the price and mileage, my next truck will get it for sure.

I can only average 17.8. I have seen 21mpg but only once. I have 1100 miles on her and have heard both it needs t break in and it doesn't, any real answers. Aside from the mileage I love it and the Ecoboost twin turbos.

I am up to 23mpg on the tank now(for the last 3 tanks now), its neat to fill it up and it calculates the next tank MPT to 550mpt...

I am going to do a highway drive and see if I can get towards 30mpg..

I do have a few mods and looking at doing more..

i just wanna say this, if you got the 5.0, they advertise 21mpg which is 2mpg less. well, if you think your getting not up to standard mpg on the 3.7 then i'm sure it'll be the same variation from the 21mpg and what you actually get.

sure the 5.0 guys are saying they are getting a so so mpg, but who to say they are really getting that and are just fibbing. i believe us 3.7 owners are reporting non fibbing numbers. hell, a tundra owner on base tried telling me his tundra gets 24mpg. i

i believe regardless, we're in the best MPG boat here. the 5.0 will be fun to have but i'm sure those extra two cylinder will eat.

Quick Reply: Finally.... over 24 MPG on a 3.7 !
