Default Fiber cover / oil pan shield (Ford p/n FLIZ-5D032-B)

I own a 2013 F150 Super Crew with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine. What is the purpose of the fiber cover/oil pan shield underneath the back part of the engine and the front part of the transmission? I've been told the nomenclature is "Cover" and the Ford p/n is FLIZ-5D032-B.

Can anyone verify the nomenclature (name) and p/n (part number)? Also, has anyone tried to get Ford to replace it on their dime? The lub techs at two different dealers did not fully turn the quick connect screws (180° turn not 90° turn) and it has fallen down twice, got scraped up by the road and Ford does not want to accept responsibility. WTF?

It's a sound dampener. Most guys take them off as they are in the way and fall off after time.

I have mine in my shop that you can have if you want it. Just pay shipping.

Default RCI Offroad

Thank you for the offer, but I don't really want another one of these "things" on my vehicle.

I'm thinking about getting the RCI Skid Plates. Do you (or anyone else) have any experience with the RCI Skid Plates?

Just noticed mine tore around 1 of the mounting bolts. Ford refused to fix under warranty. They say it's a wear item. They want $165+ labor for it at dealer. Mind you, I've never removed mine to do oil changes. Mine tore from turbulence I guess but, it's ridiculous to call it a wear item. What next? The leaf spring cracking is a wear item too?! I'm so annoyed. If it's on there, I like to keep it but, not at that price.

On my 2018 3.5 the front diaper was just total crap droopy trash, I tried to fix it with epoxy and fiberglass, but it was still marginal at best.

I replaced it with the skid plate kit from the STX.

Now back onto the horrible design diaper that needs to come down every oil change and breaks a lot, I replaced that with the following. I used the 2018 version from the site, but I linked here to the one for the 2013 version you have. https://www.etsy.com/listing/5839875..._click=1&frs=1
