Default 5.0L at the track

Well last weekend i took my truck to the track and ran it 3 times in 75 weather and my best time was 9.65 in the 1/8 mile. Have basic mods flowmaster exhaust and airaid cai on my 2012 f150 reg cab 5.0L. Im planning to go to the 1/4 mile track in 2 weeks for the hpt october madness in baytown and im ordering some 18in drag radials and getting a jlp e85 tune this week. What kind of times should i expect in the 1/4 mile track??any tips would be appreciated got to make ford look good that day!!!!

9.65 in the 1/8 equates to about 15.0 in the quarter. One or two guys on here say your truck can run 14.0 bone stock.

I run a guy with rcsb 4x4. He had a muffler, cai, and a 5star tune. His best ever et was a 13.85. We ran each other a few times, but he had some big meats on it and his times slowed considerable. He was running low 14's to mid 14's

When i ran it at the track i only had the flowmaster on and 93octane . No intake and no e85. Waiting for the tires and tune to go try it again at the 1/8mile track to see much more it improves!!!

without a tune, you are pretty close to what other 5.0's are running.
add a tune and you should EASILY drop close to a full second off your 1/4 time.
the E85 tune will be even better than that.
unfortunately the exhaust probably only added some sound, and I doubt the CAI did much either.

How are you launching? My best pass of 14.41 @ 98 (5700ft density altitude that day) was with the TC off, and just hovering over the throttle and matting it. I consistently ran slower whenever I tried to foot brake it. I ran it in tow/haul mode. If you can cool the engine off, it seems to help a bunch too. I dropped 2 tenths when the needle was just barely off cold vs operating temp. It still feels like it wants to pull hard, then falls flat on its face, and then takes off again. Even with a tune it still does this.
