I was the unluck bastard that got every problem one can have with this motor. I expect it blow it's wad but after 4 dealership 'repairs' toe their warranty doesn't mean *****!!!! I don't want the 5.0 they offered as a replacement truck. I want the 3.5 to be as it was advertised and it's not ... PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh! Got ya, sometimes I'm a little slow and you need to get my attention before you speak. My wife has learned a trick that seems to work. Any time she wants me to listen to her she lifts her shirt before she speaks. For some reason it works.

Please for the love of god don't copy her method though

If you didn't live so far away I would swear our wives were good friends, mine figured that out too. It is embarrassing as hell in public though!

Really? Their initial quality rating are higher than they have ever been. Which is the reason that I decided to take a chance and buy an F150 in the first place (my first Ford). So, I hope they don't go back to making things the way they used to. My 2011 ecoboost FX4 has 25k miles and zero issues, and slightly better than EPA rated mileage on the highway.

Keep up the good work Ford.
This is your first ford and you make a smart *** post. I have owned 9 ford trucks. My 2007 5.4 blew up before the first oil change at 2800 miles........my 2011 5.0 blew up after the third oil change......but your right.....Im crazy for saying ford doesnt build them like they use to lol.....I take my old beaters back any day than this 40000 dollar pos. First ford truck......get out of here buddy lol

Sounds like you're rough on stuff. Maybe you should buy a bulldozer?

I have owned 6 all cleared 100k plus some hit 200k only issue with any of them was my 2007 that the passenger side exhaust manifold gasket leaked at 140k. So I would say they build them better then they used too

What did you drive from 2007-2011?

My '05 did 228,000 before I traded it for my '12 FX4. My '00 hit 210,000 before I sold it...and I still see it driving around town. Neither truck even so much as had an engine light come on. You got some bad luck.

Loud knocking noise then smoke. Put a hole through the block.
Jim Burke Ford Bakersfield has had the truck for one month, new engine and the turbos were frozen. The truck had less than 2000 miles. The dealer has no idea why this happened, destroyed engine returned to Ford.

I am concerned that blown turbos and possible metal particles may hurt the new engine, they did not discover the frozen turbos until after the new turbos were installed. I am concerned re the future reliability of the ecoboost and I will try to convince ford to give me a new truck, most likely a v8 this time.

Have others had engine failures? Any thoughts?
They put the old frozen "because metal particles locked up the turbines" turbos on your new engine? WTF. That is just asking for another problem. Did they take the intercooler out and have it cleaned? Unless they put in a new intercooler, I would ask them to show you the sublet invoice from the radiator shop where this was done. If that intercooler was not properly cleaned and has metal flakes in it, then you will be back in the shop soon with turbo failure. Having worked for a Ford dealership a long time ago, I know that those mechanics are humans that make mistakes just like us, and not the know all end all source we make them out to be. They only know by experience of what they have worked on before and if the person working on your truck that has only worked on 5.0's does not have experience with turboed engines, then steps might get missed in properly fixing your truck. I am not saying they are messing up your truck, I am just saying do not accept the truck back until you have gone through the list of things that were done to repair your truck and are fully satisfied with it.
