I was the unluck bastard that got every problem one can have with this motor. I expect it blow it's wad but after 4 dealership 'repairs' toe their warranty doesn't mean *****!!!! I don't want the 5.0 they offered as a replacement truck. I want the 3.5 to be as it was advertised and it's not ... PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh! Got ya, sometimes I'm a little slow and you need to get my attention before you speak. My wife has learned a trick that seems to work. Any time she wants me to listen to her she lifts her shirt before she speaks. For some reason it works.

Why is it that when one or two motors blow..."Ford just doesn't build trucks like they used to..."
Really? Their initial quality rating are higher than they have ever been. Which is the reason that I decided to take a chance and buy an F150 in the first place (my first Ford). So, I hope they don't go back to making things the way they used to. My 2011 ecoboost FX4 has 25k miles and zero issues, and slightly better than EPA rated mileage on the highway.
Keep up the good work Ford.

My '05 did 228,000 before I traded it for my '12 FX4. My '00 hit 210,000 before I sold it...and I still see it driving around town. Neither truck even so much as had an engine light come on. You got some bad luck.

Inebriated 4 ur safety
My new 2012 F150 ecoboost broke a piston and threw a rod on California's grapevine. Happened on the downhill stretch, not loaded or pulling a trailer.
Loud knocking noise then smoke. Put a hole through the block.
Jim Burke Ford Bakersfield has had the truck for one month, new engine and the turbos were frozen. The truck had less than 2000 miles. The dealer has no idea why this happened, destroyed engine returned to Ford.
I am concerned that blown turbos and possible metal particles may hurt the new engine, they did not discover the frozen turbos until after the new turbos were installed. I am concerned re the future reliability of the ecoboost and I will try to convince ford to give me a new truck, most likely a v8 this time.
Have others had engine failures? Any thoughts?
