Default Ethanol / Grand Forks

I live up in Grand Forks and most of the stations here add 10% ethanol even to their premium blends. I found two stations that offer ethanol free premium fuel but it costs 40 cents per gallon more which is ridiculous. I only put premium in so I'm wondering if the 10% ethanol will hurt my mpg.

Run a tank of pure gas and see how it compares.

My guess is you will see a mileage improvement, but maybe not enough to overcome the price difference. .

If my math is correct I would have to get roughly 2 mpg better than what I'm getting right now to pay the extra 40 cents. Then it would come out even.

Most of my driving is 75 mph interstate. On this ethanol I get 18ish mpg. I just filled up tonight again with 10% ethanol. I will see what this tank does then try the ethanol free.
