Engine Sound - 5.0
I know that I've asked about this in the past and also have seen some videos online as well. I just never did a video myself.
Kind of wondering if you all with the 5.0 think this sounds normal or not. I'll also admit this isn't the greatest video as I did it off my phone in about 45 seconds and just did enough for you to hear the passenger side and then driver side of the truck.
Any and all opinions or thoughts are welcome! I keep getting told that the sound is normal and maybe it is and I'm just being paranoid, but it helps for others to hear it as well.

I've got the same noise in mine. Pretty sure it's not the injectors because I only hear the noise from the sides, if I pop the hood and listen from above the I can hear the injectors alright but it's not the same noise. I really notice it most when there's a solid flat surface nearby to reflect the sound, like when I'm pulling up to a drive-through window.
I asked my dealership to check it out. They checked against two TSBs - one for the water pump and the other for a timing chain noise - said it didn't fit either for those and they couldn't hear anything out of the ordinary.
I'm just going with the theory that it's normal, at least as long as the warranty is still in effect.

Thank you all so far for the responses and it's kind of nice to hear it is normal. I have had this since day 1 when I got the truck. I initially took my truck in for this problem and was told it was normal and then I recently had it checked out the last couple of weeks just cause I was at the dealership and they still said it was just a normal sound from the 5.0, but I wanted to get the opinion of more people who own 5.0 trucks!
So thank you all for posting on this thread for me!
By the way, I will say that it seems more "easier to hear" when in a place that sound can bounce off like drive-thru windows, car wash, or some other places. That is initially what kind of freaked me out about it all.

Yeah, it freaked me out the first time I heard it too. Nice warm spring day, first time since I bought the truck that it was nice enough to drive with the windows open... not a care in the world until I pulled into my garage and heard this horrendous ticking that seemed to come out of nowhere.
Just got used to it, but then it's still cold out...
