Ecoboost waste gate/bov problem

So I finally had time to get into the preload thing with the pressure tester. I pulled the wheels off and the driver's side inner fender which made access a snap. I loosened off the jamb nuts so the waste gate linkage was loose, pumped the tester to 7psi then snugged the jamb nut. Did one side at a time and had a second pair of eyes so we could see movement at the same time on opposite turbos. Did a couple of test cycles and took it for a road test. Zero flutter and better power. Now I just have to do a longer drive to see if my mileage has improved but I'm calling this one a big fat victory. 👍👍

so what I did was loosen the nuts so that the Gage could move freely, basically moved the nuts to the ends of the threads. Then I applied pressure to the line until my gauge read 7psi. Next I tightened the one nut until it bottomed out on the waste gate finger tight, lastly tightened up the other but hand tight then snugged it with a wrench.

I just filled my tank yesterday. 156CAD. Ouch. Drove about 160km yesterday after fill up. I saw an average of 10.8l/100km. Haven't seen that kind of response since this fiasco began. I will report my final average and total range at the end of the tank.

so I did this tonight and now the oscillation is 10x worse. I'm at a loss again. The passenger side Rod was spinning as I was turning the top nut because it was rusted, but I was able to break it free. Also the passenger wastegate flap was super loose and the driver side did not move at all by hand (when the nuts were both loose), but I don't think I played with the driver side. I don't think these are uncommon (normal situations).

Not sure it would matter, but Are you applying the pressure at a single location that is essentially opening both wastegates? Or are you hooking up to each actuator pumping it and tightening the nuts one at a time?

I attached the hand pump to the hose just after the solenoid, which means I was pressurizing both at the same time. The waste gate flaps on my truck both moved freely when the jamb nuts were loosened. I did the first one by myself, then had a second pair of eyes watch the first one while I adjusted the second one.
If one of your wastegates is stuck, you need to get that working freely first.
Through my first tank of fuel. 850km range at 13.7 l/100km. Not amazing but I have to keep reminding myself that there was lots of city driving and grades on the local roads. If I filled the tank and headed south, I'd bet money I would see 10-11 l/100km again if it was all hwy.
