If 80-90% of that is driving at 65-70 mph then you have spent a ton of time idling which will of course kill your mileage. Your average speed is around 34 mph since the last reset. Towing will lower your mileage too...along with the extra weight of the diesel tank and tool box in your bed. You're not going to get the same gas mileage as those of us that don't have the extra weight or tow as much as you do. You can try taking it back to the dealer to have them look at it, but you're likely going to get the same response as before.

Thanks all for your replys!

So it still seems like the results are all over the board!

I don't understand for the life of me how 1 person can be getting 20mpg, while the next is getting 12mpg's!

I drive my truck pretty conservatively, I gunned it once just to see what she had, she showed me and that was enough to know..

I just drove across Missouri, from central Illinois to Branson Missouri, I got 12mpg's on the long haul and 11 on the mixed town/highway driving. I am pulling a 17' aluminum boat, but it weighs no more than 3,000 lbs..

When I get back I'm going to go to the dealer and demand they install the new flash upgrade, hopefully that will help/fix it, if not I dont know what else to do..

So anyone getting 20 mpg on the freeway with the cruise set drives like a lil'bitch....like a girl?

I always thought those that put lifts and bigger tires on their trucks were compensating for filling up their panties like little girls.

I only have 1900 miles on the truck so far, but the lifetime average is 17.8 mpg. I have hand calculated every fill up so far, and I typically get .2 mpg better than the truck's meter says.

Through the week my average MPG's are around 16.5 because I only live 6 miles from work and the truck does not get completely warm. I typically average 18.5 or so at highway speeds, 65-70 mph, and 19.5-20.0 at 55-60 MPH.

I have kept a log of each fill up along with the type of driving and weather conditions. Maybe in a few more months I will have some solid data to share. I am also running several tanks of different octane ratings to see if the ecoboost gets better mileage with 89 or 93 octane.

I took a drive from Stowe to downtown Burlington, VT today with temps in the 70s. I got 21 on the way and 20 on the way back. Rural roads to the interstate, cruise control at 65 on the interstate. I had the 12-2-10 TSB done Friday, but my MPG has always been good.

I have almost 15k on my truck and have experienced a little bit of the diminishing MPG issue but not like others have. I was getting 19mpg in the city and 23mpg all day long until 5k then winter hit and have yet to see it recover.

Below after 5k
City driving up and down ohio hills I get around 16.5mpg
Highway through the hills/mountains 17mpg at 70-80MPH
Flat highways like eastern North Carolina or Kansas I see 22+mpg at 70-80MPH

I am taking another trip later this month on some flat highways so I am very curious. As soon as my EB starts up a hill even a small one mpg goes to poop.

My 2011 EB had 355 gears and my 2012 EB has 373 gears. I have not noticed any difference in the mpg on either. For the same mpg one would be a fool not to get 373 gears for the extra ump alone. My 2012 had 352 miles on it and I hit the road kind of in a hurry and put the cruse on 80 mph going and coming and averaged right at 18 mpg. Not bad for new and if you want to get better mpg go no faster than 69 mph (boy I like that number) and believe it or not, leave the cruse "OFF". Both of my EB have got good mpg but you need to learn how to drive them and yes it is a different way than we are used to.

I just got back from trip to Grand Canyon from Denver. Attached is a picture of mileage for road trip (trip B) and from Albuquerque to Denver (trip A). When we left Denver we had the worst head wind I have seen and truck only averaged 15 mpg for the first 400 miles of trip. So that greatly reduced overall milage of trip. All highway miles are done with cruise on and set at 79 mph. Truck is 2011 fx4 Eco screw and 3.73 rear with around 17,000 miles. Three people in truck, Three bikes, luggage and coolers. I had have averaged around 19 mpg on all of the family road trips so far. Very happy with truck and mileage.

My 2012 F-150 Lariat Ecoboost also has the 3.73 gears, so I thought I'd add to this thread. So far I only have ~1,300 km (800 miles), but so far my fuel consumption has averaged 14.4 L/100km which translates to ~16.3 MPG for American truck owners. I sure hope that gets better after breaking in the engine, and not worse!

Not trying to start anything, but wish people with lower miles would refrain from posting mileage numbers.

My truck is nearing 14,000 miles. Lifetime average is 14.7 mpg. Probably 3,000-4,000 miles towing in those numbers, lightest load 2 four wheelers, heaviest a 24' flatbed loaded, lots of miles pulling enclosed 12 and 14 ft trailers. I seem to get 10 mpg towing, doesn't matter what load.

This past weekend I did a 290 mile trip, 170 miles at 62 mph and 120 miles at 72 mph. Average was 20.2 mpg. For the 62 mph stretch, my mpg's were at 21.3. At 72 mph they were near 19 mpg.

Capable of good mpgs...yes. Winter, wind, towing, and a 6 mile drive to work kill my mileage.
