Ecoboost, twirly things in the intake pipes
#171
Think the British actually designed them and put them in Ford industrial 4 cyls under 100 cubic inches first. You know they came to this country unloaded their car on a dry lake bed warmed it up and a couple hours later shattered the sound barrier not once but twice. Guess they know what they are doing. LOL

I guess the old saying rings true here. Better to keep you mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Thanks Papa
I kinda want to take these things out of my EB just to spite papa tiger.
I was extremely excited to see this topic. To be honest I had no idea these things were even in my intake, and to think that I might be able to make my truck sound cooler and maybe, just maybe, get a few more MPGs is pretty awesome.
The real world experiences reported by other members here is PRICELESS!
If I find the time to pop the "twirly things" out of my EB I will be sure to report back.
And thank you papa tiger for acting like an immature little $!#@& and taking this thread off topic. I'm so glad you asked your dealer about "tearing up" our trucks before we made a terrible & irreversible mistake!!!

Saw a guy put 2 jet engines in his mustang a couple years ago but his vortices couldn't get him up to 300. Guess he didn't know anything and was just a fool. Showed everybody his pictures. It was all about accurately measuring air flow. LOL

And Ford has patents on Vortic Devices and is very serious about accurately measuring air flow and fuel vapor release to the air. But you know it all and that is ok for you. So just Bla Bla Bla. Doesn't do nobody no hurt. And publish vidios and pictures of your drag runs with them out please. HaHa Ha.

Thanks for that, not just because it was really funny, but some pretty sound advise, too.

You can read Ford's patents on using Vortice devices to accurately measure air flow thru internal sound design also changing air temps thru speed and atmospheric psi. Also Vortic Mass air flow patents. Also Vortice tube patents of Ford design splitting temps of air in the tube and ways to use them. If you don't have the data you don't really know anything about it.
