ecoboost turbo failures

So I've lately had a screeching noise from engine when cold and accelerating.
Once warm it pretty much goes away.
Belts are new,bearing and pulleys good....so don't say it's a belt.
I took it to shop today and managed to replicate it several times with shop foreman...
Puzzled but leaning towards a turbo issue.
They will need it for a few days to investigate.
The whole going away mostly when warm has be a bit confused...if a bearing is going or something I think it would go away.

Anybody think this sounds familiar?

Or does it sound different than what you're used to hearing in your truck?
I have yet to drive my truck in less than 80 degree weather so I have no idea how a shot of cold air will sound...

Any chance you are hearing the pressure bleeding off? Either from the wastegate or blow off.

I've owned the truck for over 2 years and am completely used to the odd sounds the EB makes.

damn...so many freakin ecoboost issues. mine started making a funky noise too. the best onomatopeia i can use for it is a "eenh urr eenh urr eenh urr"much like dry wiper blades. the truck would "hang back" and my boost shot up to 18 psi while this noise was going on and ive never seen it above 16. i was thinking a stuck blow off valve? i'll check out the intake tube and other stuff possibly tomorrow if i get time. i would hate to be another pissed off customer posting a bitch fest post later.
also its a 2011 with 21xxx miles. it was about 40 degrees when it did it. just some extra tidbits

Ecoboost turbo failure
My turbo just failed on my 2013 ecoboost with 51k (kilometers) almost all of those kilometers are highway and the truck has been driven very lightly only towing once. This is also the fifth time that it has been in for major repairs under warranty. With multiple sensor failures in the traction control and hill descent ( even though it always failed at highway speeds on level highway) that made the engine operate very poorly and even stall at highway speeds.
When the truck is working I love the way it drives but I've never experienced such an unreliable vehicle. If you ask me I would avoid ecoboost at all costs. Ford seems to go cheap on sensors and electronics and for a $55k vehicle this is ridiculous.
I'm not happy Ford!

the K03 is a proven turbo, easily one of the most durable OE turbos out there, found on everything from mazdaspeeds to VW, Audis, and many more. Borg Warner makes about 400k of these turbos per year for their customers so there is always a small percentage that go bad prematurely but the warrranty will cover that. Of course if it isnt covered under warranty its also inexpensive and straight forward to service the bearing housing with a overhaul rebuild kit

I had the right side Turbo go out on my 2012 Platinum 60K miles. I have the extended warranty, thank God, as it went in on 2/2/2015 and I didn't get it back until 2/26/2015. Ford did pay for a rental for the entire time because they couldn't get the Turbo.
I also had them look at the 4WD, because when it's in 2WD sometimes (not always) it sounds like the front wheels are falling off and very very loud grinding noise. It names no noise when in Auto mode.
They said this was normal......
So happy my truck was fixed
Not happy it took almost a month
Happy Ford gave me a rental for the time out
Not happy they said the grinding was normal, when clearly it is not.
Back on topic. I hope this was just a fluke thing and the other turbo last.
