EcoBoost P0299 issues
Hey guys,
I have a 2011 EcoBoost that recently started giving me issues. One day I noticed there was no low end power and couldn’t feel or hear the turbo. Once the rpms hit 2500-3000 the bigger turbo kicked in. Then the check engine light finally came on for low boost. I originally thought the turbo was blown or wastegate was stuck open. When this happens, I do a throttle calibration and it’s back to normal and turbos work as they should. I checked all hoses and even moved the wastegate arm to make sure it wasn’t getting stuck. It seems it’s something electrical if the problem goes away when I reset the throttle calibration. Could this be a bad throttle body? Maybe a bad wastegate solenoid? I searched for this code and everyone seems to have different solutions. Some even had the issue after replacing the turbo.
