Default Who else is tired of hearing about the 5.0?

But Mom all the other 2011+ engines have one, why can't we?!

Great engine, great sound, lots of aftermarket potential

I for one can't hear enough about this thing!

I have to respectfully disagree. Ford's best motor imo was the I6 300 for toughness and the 427 SOHC for power. The 427 was 616 hp at 7000 rpm and 515 lbs/ft of torque at 3800 rpm in 1965

I didn't say power or toughness, unless you were trying to make up your own argument there...

The 300 was pretty tough, until condensation builds up under the distributor, but that's nothing a dry cloth wouldn't fix.

Those I6 300's were torquey. Drove a couple of shortbed ext cab 4x4's with the 5 speed. You could almost just let out the clutch without any throttle to take off in first.

True. My brother has a 85 reg cab 4x4 4 speed with a 92 efi engine and it was the same way. But it didn't make much power past 3k rpm. 4k if you really pushed it. That was a strong motor. While 4 wheeling the transmission slipped out of gear once and pegged the tach at 6k because his foot was to the floor and it had no ill affects on it.

Ahhhh....... The 427 SOHC "Cammer". Throw on dual four-barrel carbs from the parts counter at Ford and make 657 hp at 7,500 rpm and 575 ft lb at 4,200 rpm. A Hemi's worst nightmare.
