Ecoboost replacement engine ??s
Hey all-
Bought a '12 FX4 EB 2 months ago, has 54k miles on it now. Pushed the #1 con rod through both sides of the block last week. Just went out of Powertrain warranty in Aug so Ford informed me that they can offer no assistance...
So, I'm looking at options for a new engine. I found M-6007-35T for a relatively competitive price, and it's complete, including starter, alt, and even new turbos. Problem is that it's advertised for '13-'15 F150s. I know there are some differences... But, has anyone dropped one of these in their '11 or '12?

Has anyone put a '13 up engine in one of these? I spoke w/ a guy at Ford Racing yesterday, regarding the M-6007-35T ('13-'15) engine assembly. He said it is IMPOSSIBLE to put that in my '12. I find this too hard to believe. Seems like turbos can be transferred to eliminate the mech vs electronic issue. Can anyone chime in??

Boost :)
Turbos are different, 13+ have one BOV mounted to intercooler versus 11-12 having two mounted to turbos, intercooler of course different, 11-12 has vaccuum pump behind headlight and this was changed in 2013, etc etc. Quite a few differences, not to mention the PCM and harness itself will be different.
That's only the few differences I personally know of. I'm sure there are more than I don't know more about, but I would think it would be pretty tricky.

Thanks for the input TJ. Looks like I'm going with an aftermarket reman engine and turbos. The truck has been down for a week and a half... time to get it back on the road. Main factor for me right now is a strong warranty since I'm absolutely freaked out with this engine.

I have a 2012 ecoboost F150 that crapped out too. Looking to replace, dealer offered a reman block for me. M-6007-35T I called on this crate motor myself and the turbos are located in a different area than the 12'. This came from the ford performance tech. Dealer wants to charge over 13K to fix. Looking for options myself.
