Default Ecoboost reflash

FYI, there is a reflash for our trucks. I was programming mine for the TBC install and decided to check for an updated program. Well to my suprise there was an update, my truck was built in mid-late Feb. So I went ahead and did the update.
Been driving it for a few days now, and I notice I don't get the bump on the 2-1 downshift anymore. Wasn't a big deal to me before, but I started paying attention to it more. I notice watching the shift indicator it doesn't shift to 2nd gear when coming to a stop now, it goes from 3rd to 1st, and no bump. Also haven't noticed the slight rough idle when cold, will pay more attention to that in the future. Again, it wasn't a big deal to me before, but I haven't noticed it the last few mornings and will start looking for it now to compare.

So we have to go to the dealer for a "flash", right?? Or is there a way to flash from home?

I've had some issues with my truck (2011/EB/Scab/4x4), and it spent 8 days at the dealership...they could find no "codes", so they went to FoMoCo for input. Ford advised them to reflash both the PCM and TCM. When I picked the truck up last Friday afternoon, I learned that Ford has released two entire new versions of the software for my truck, since it was built in Feb. The Service Manager told me that Ford normally does not do this while a vehicle production run is going on, so if new software was released, there had to be a good reason. (these were not updates...they were entire new software versions, the first superseded the "as built" software for trucks produced between 1 Jan and 1 Apr, and the second superseded the previous one.)
Since the reflash, my truck has improved greatly. The first thing I noticed was the "Miles to E" when the tank if full. Prior to the reflash the most it ever read was 357...since the reflash it reads 409-411 after a fill up. I've only driven it on short runs in town, but did a 20 mile round trip yesterday, right after topping off the tank, and when I got home the average MPG on the dash was at 21.2mpg....which is a milestone for this truck, considering the best it's ever been before the reflash (town or highway) was 16.9mpg. The idle stutter that I have experienced since taking delivery is gone, and many of the other issues I've experienced have not occurred since the reflash.

I have to believe that if this happened with my truck, there must be others that were produced in the same time frame running around with similar issues, that could benefit from a reflash to the updated software.

If anybody has this .pdf but isn't able to post it, I'd be happy to get it via email/fax/regular mail and ensure it is saved/posted in a high res format.

In fact it would be really fabulous is we could get a TSB library going... I've seen it done on other car forums and it is often an invaluable resource.

Here is an example of a nice TSB library on a Touareg forum (have an '04 V8).Touareg TSB Library
