Towing mileage is towing mileage.
Weather and road conditions will amplify the drop in mpg no matter what vehicle you are towing with.
Daily driving I am getting about 3mpg better than any V8 half ton I have owned...be it Chevrolet or Ford, almost as good mpg as the Ford Ranger I had in the nineties.
Towing have always gotten 9-11 mpg....with all the V8s I've owned so I am not expecting miracles with the Ecoboost.
It will pull things better but will burn gas to do it...people are gonna have to accept that...
The fact that I have this much power on tap with this mpg(18-19mpg) is amazing to me

Default Milage

I have 1450 on my 2011 Eco Screw all my miles to date have been aroud town. I live in Phoenix AZ and when the truck is on the AC is on full. my trip A shows me at 17.9 avg mpg for the 1439 that are on that trip. I have 3.55 rear end and have had a tendency to get into it getting on the freeway and such. I guess I wouold consider this Avg city Mpg and good considering the AC blowing

I wondered how the mpg ratings were done....

I used to figure about 20% less than the rated mpg.....

Very impressive. What kind of setup was it?

EB Supercrew, 5.5 bed, 3.15 gear, 87 octane, Bak flip bed cover, 1800 miles on truck. It was mostly interstate, steady speeds from 60-75 in traffic.

Are you resetting after getting up to speed or right when you start up. Either way that's awesome. The 3.15 really helps with that.

I think resetting while up to speed is cheating. I re-set it before pulling out of my car port and it was on 26.4 when I pulled into a parking spot at work.

Thanks. I agree its totally cheating. I just wanted to check. That's great mpg. What does your avg speed calculate to? By resetting your trip a or b and going by the timer because I assume you just reset the fuel econ screen.
