Now my tires are not the stock tires but heavier 72,000 mile Michelin Lt truck tires. So these are rated for far higher air pressure then the stock Goodyears.

My 2012 Ecoboost had the stock tires on and I kept them at 40 pounds and got very good mileage.

One thing, check the tire pressure yourself, I told the dealer to put 40 pounds in them and they only put 32. Mileage was terrrible on a 150 mile trip. When I discovered they only had 32 pounds and increased it to 45, my mileage finally jumped to over 20 on the long trip from Ohio to South Texas.

I got my 2013 about 3 weeks ago. My mileage is slowing getting better. Not much though. 13.5-14 per tank. I live in Alaska so it is cold, the truck is breaking in, and we have winter gas right now. BUT here in AK we don't have ethanol in our gas (woo hoo).

Give it some time, these trucks need a break in from what I'm seeing.

I towed a Bronco II on a uhaul trailer from Dallas to Memphis going about 62mph. I got 13.5 and 13.45 calculated after my to fill ups. On my way there , 18.2. The 75 mph speed limit is a killer of mpg.

2012 2wd with 3.55's, ~27K miles. E10 gas all the way regular on the way down and premium (91, 93) on the way back. There was a heavy crosswind the whole trip.

I have read that fuel milage can be poor in cold weather. Seems to improve as the engine and tranny warm up.

That sure is true. We left on our trip from South Texas to Ohio with the temperature at 72 degrees. The first half of the tank was averaging 20.5 mpg. Then we hit the cold front, a wall of north wind and rain and the temp dropped to 34 degrees. So did the mileage. By the time we filled the tank we were only at 15.6 mpg.

Try as I might, I could only get about 16 mpg so finally I gave up and put her up to 75 mph. Averaged about the same at that speed.

When we got up north and the speed limit was only 55, we got up to 19. mpg but I was really disappointed at the mileage for the entire 1600 mile trip. Don't remember cold affecting my 2012 truck that much. Seemed like it was always abouve 19 mpg for long trips.

We were loaded down with heavy luggage, canned goods golf clubs and carts but still shouldn't have affected mileage that much.

Every 10 deg is worth about 1 mpg.

I have a 5.8L and a 5.4 2v that lose just as many MPGs as my Ecoboost in cold weather. Currently 7* F here.
