I traded in a 2011 4x4 5.0 3.73 SCREW for a 2014 Ecoboost FX4 4x4 SCREW with 3.55 gears. Reset it on the way home from the dealer, 12 miles (50/50 city/hwy) and was setting at 19.8 mpg. I went in assuming whatever mileage I got would increase by 2 mpg after break in. I'll update after 3k miles..
Thats has been the crazy thing, some like me see a big drop after thousands of miles when we had one that did great at first.

'14 screw with 3.55 getting 15 hwy at 60mph. town is about 12-13. Terribly disappointed so far. about 1100 on the ticker right now, im HOPING it gets better but not counting on it....

I have noticed that the tranny takes forever to warm up. it takes about 25 miles to reach the 150-160f range and then it seems as if i gain a couple mpg to what is stated above.

The problem is work is only 16 miles. i was at 119F when i arrived at work yesterday but it was -21F when i left the house. The truck sleeps in a 55F garage though.

Today i was at 134F when i arrived at work and the temp was 12F when i left home.

Just something that i found interesting....

I hope i dont see a big drop when i get a few thousand on it....if so i'll have Gallons per miles instead of miles per gallon.

It just blows my mind how these numbers can vary so much from truck to truck.

For crying out loud guys, bad mpg is common in colder temps and F150s or Ecoboosts are not the only ones it effects.

People act like 13-14 mpg during the winter cold weather on these trucks is the end of the world and uncommon. Even these trucks with a lot less power and capabilities get 13-14 mpg in the winter. Once the outside temps get below 60F, you will start to see mpgs drop dramatically.

Congrats, I did the same only EB 3.73 for EB 3.55, thus far I am an MPG or two under the 3.73? It is winter, so warmer months will tell?

3.55 should give you better fuel economy than 3.73

One problem is now you got a "detuned" 2013. If it's got less power it's going to downshift more and probably get worse fuel economy.

If you had an ecoboost before you should have records or remember what kind of mileage it got during the winter, so you should have something to compare too

I have the worst. King Ranch fully loaded. 4x4, 3:73. With my toolbox (40#) tools (50#) air bags (40#) Gooseneck hitch (93# ) Line x bedliner (60 lbs) Weighed 6340 lbs. My 2011 SCAB weighed 1000 lbs less and got 2mpg better .
Oh no, I have you beat. I have an '11 FX4 with 4.10 gears and super heavy. Running Toyo 33's, full size spare and a canopy. Weighs in at 7200lbs on empty. I routinely get 12-14mpg in the summer, not so much in the winter. And when I tow my 10,000lb camper, that's in the 7mpg range.

I LOVE my EB FX4, but damnit, those fuel economy numbers are driving me to look at a new SuperDuty. Still, that being said, I'm a heavy rig and with insane power on tap. Even towing 10k pounds of trailer, it moves like a bat out of hell until I get to the mountain passes where I have to slow her down to 45-50 in 3rd gear. But she still pulls hard. Can't really ask for more from an F150.

I had a 2013 F250 6.7 with the 3.31 rear and 2wd for about 4 months. I sold it and went back to the ecoboost. The F250 antiquated twin I beam is a relic from years gone by. The rear seat and leg room in the F250 SCAB was smaller than that in the F150 SCAB.
The F250 unloaded beat this current truck by about 3 mpg and towing would beat this truck by anywhere from 1-4 mpg depending upon the load being towed. If I had of had the 4x4 and another rear end it would have been worse. Throw in diesel at 50 cents a gal more expensive, more expensive maintenance and frequent cleaning of the DPF which made my fuel economy drop by about 4 mpg on a short run I wasn't impressed with the Super Duty.
If Ford comes out with a diesel for the F150 I would consider it but it will have to get 5mpg better towing than my ecoboost or I will keep what I have (about a third of my driving is towing)

Just crossed over 17,000 on my 2013 SCrew Eco. Still getting excellent mileage. Trip to Greenville, SC last weekend. 20.5 going up @ 70+ mph with fair amount of traffic. 21+ coming back @ 65 mph and heavy traffic. Still on moisture issues. Truck has been flawless!

WOW, really? That's insane. I was thinking I'd get around 17mpg with a diesel plus have the extra towing capability. Although my EB tows the rig just fine, I can tell it's at the limits. Everyone I've talked to said the SuperDuty wouldn't even bat an eye at my trailer compared with the F150...
