Just to confuse everyone I just got my EcoFX4 and will monitor mileage closely. For my first 40km on the odo I got 16.5L/100km city, and my next 40km got 18L/100km scaring the sheets out of everyone test driving.

Just turned 1k brand new miles and my miles are around mid 12's to 13's in the city and mid 16's on the highway.
Honestly, I couldn't be happier with this truck! OK, if I was getting 25 mpg I would be happier but I'm a realist and this is a full size truck

Does the mileage gradually go up as you get more miles on the engine? Idk if it soumds dumb..lol. this is my first brand new vehicle..its got about 300 miles and I'm averaging about 12.4 according to the dash. Also, for you guys who put a full race IC, did it void the warranty?

It will go up as you drive more. If you can get good mileage if you take the lead out of your right shoe

Most brand new engines will use more fuel. As they "seal up", they will become more efficient.

As far as the warranty with the I/C. The only thing it should be effecting would be the warranty on the factory CAC. If you decide to get one, and you have to haul the truck to the dealer for anything major. If it would make you feel more at ease, just put the factory unit back on. Swapping out the I/Cs is a very easy task.

Awesome man thanks for the Info. Like I said, this is my first new vehicle. And ya I was going to make a trip down to Full Race in Phoenix and get their IC.

Default 28.73 mpg: Real results.

Hi all. I'm new on here, but I've been reading a lot of the comments on this thread, and overwhelmingly the numbers are LOW regarding fuel efficiency. I'd like to share my Ford experience as well, although mine is a little different. Bought my truck in January of 2012, and was SO excited at the potential for 22mpg. I travel a lot, but needed to retain the ability to haul things. After a month or so, I discovered that the fuel efficiency was not nearly as grand as I had expected. In trying to buy a standard Tonneau cover for my truck on Craigslist, I met a remarkable guy who spent many years designing/engineering some amazing products to address that very issue. He had this very different looking cover on the back of his Ford when I pulled up.....like nothing I had ever seen. When I asked him to tell me a little more about it, he took me into his shop where he had designed what I now affectionately know as the Aero-Lid. I was so intrigued with the product for it's diverse functionality that I left without buying the standard Tonneau that he was selling (he was using it in a fuel efficiency comparison test, and had completed his assessment), telling him that I would like to hear more about the product he was designing. A couple of weeks later, I got a call from him; he asked if I would be willing to test the lid out for him for Eco Boost fuel efficiency if he built one for my truck. His was a standard V8, and he wanted to see what he could do with an Eco Boost. I was more than thrilled to. By August 2012 I had the lid on my truck, and I've been logging my mileage ever since. The difference is not remarkable in-city - less than a 2 mpg gain, but on the highway, it is absolutely amazing. About 26.5 average with just the Aero-Lid. Yesterday, we installed the boat tail, which extends the bed out by another 2' by completely enclosing the dropped tailgate, and increases the fuel efficiency in extending the aerodynamic angle of the lid, which is patterned after the old fastbacks. It is in it's rough form, unpainted and perhaps not aesthetically appealing in it's prototypical state, but completely functional. We did a 212 mile test run with it. 28.73 mpg, guys. Let me say that again. 28.73 mpg. I am afforded completely enclosed storage for whatever I choose to haul - I do animal rescue, so covered, ventilated safety for crated animals is ideal for me. However, the lid simply unhinges if I need to throw a four wheeler or something in the back, and the boat tail was off in 5 minutes. Would love to hear some thoughts and initial impressions from others.

That's incredible mileage! But I do have to admit...And no offense..but it looks awful. Its a great idea. And probably would tune to the older fellows on here, but it makes the truck look like a rolling tent. Very smart idea though, and I hope it takes off for the guy!
