So I will admit I have not read all 2700 posts here but my issue is that my economy is actually worse than what the truck states. When I run down to about 1/4 tank I fill it all the way back up and the amount of fuel that goes in is several gallons more than what the trip says I used on that tank, therefor the MPG is off. This has been the case on EVERY fill up so far.

I just went on a trip from Houston to East Texas and could not get a better average for the 3.5 hour trip than low 17's on the truck computer, high 15's by hand.

Have others had the truck be significantly off on how much fuel it says you have used?

2012 S.Crew
3.15 rear
2 wheel drive
stock tires and 20" wheels
currently about 1800 miles on the truck (just made that trip two days ago)
Have run 93 octane fuel from day one

I have only run 87 octane and I am getting great fuel economy. I don't think my mileage would improve by using premium unleaded. Regular gas here is averaging $1.20 a litre, so roughly $4.80 a gallon.

I was in DFW last weekend and gas was $3 a gallon.

My mileage blows with my ecoboost. The 5.4 liter engine on my 2004 that I sold was a lot better. Granted - I am just breaking in, but 13.1 with lots of highway seems to be very low.

I'm also getting terrible gas mileage. 2300 miles on the clock. Lifetime MPG: 14.2. Current tank: 13.8. I drive a lot of highway and never have seen it over 16.5, even in the first few minutes after leaving a gas station when doing pure cruise control flat highway driving.

I like everything on the truck except the motor. I really dislike the motor, especially when my dad is getting high teens combined mileage on his 5.0.

Forgot to add- SCREW 3.55 gears 2012 Lariat

Why don't ya'll swap trucks for a week and see if you like driving the 5.0L. You might also see if it is the motor or his/yours driving style that is getting the mpgs.

Is that combined city and highway? If so that is pretty good considering the combined average on the sticker is 17 mpg.

In the midwest, bought the truck in late November. 2013 XLT EcoBoost screw 4x4 with 6.5' bed and 3.31 gears. Just broke 3000 miles and I have no complaints at all - really curious what it'll be like with more miles and warmer weather.
