Some of you may remember me posting about my 2400 mile trip and ~24 mpg. Well, I made another road trip this past weekend.

This one was right at 700 miles. It included a one-hour traffic delay that killed my mileage at the very beginning of the trip. At the destination, 250 miles later, my average was 23.2 mpg. The return trip of 250 miles was 24.5 mpg. Overall for the trip (the full 700 miles) was 23.0 mpg, which included 200 miles of tooling around town and at least 4 full-throttle blasts.

2011 SuperCrew, Ecoboost, 3.15 gear, 2wd. Bed cover, 3-4 people, bed packed with luggage, and running the 5Star 93 tune. Pure gas 93 for the first 500 miles and E10 93 for the last 200 miles.

Sounds about right, higher gears, 2WD. The Max tow 4WD gets about 21-22 highway. A trip to CA from IL and back I saw right about that over 4500 miles. Its the daily driving that sucked up the gas.

I have had the 5 star 87 performance/tow on my truck for about 2500 miles now, truck total has about 5800 miles. With the tune installed getting about 13.5 mpg in town and 16.5 on the highway on 1 500 mile round trip. That highway trip was with the cruise set at 72 the entire time, 85% straight interstate from Texas to Louisiana. I am disappointed with the milage but I love the power this truck has. Going to try the 5 star economy tune soon. Over the life of the truck I am averaging 14.5 mpg.

We have two trip meters, Trip A & trip B. I've left my trip A alone since my truck was new, 23000 miles ago, and naturally it has my total gals used and total engine run time. Including my towing and everything else, my running average is sitting on 18.6. Not at all bad considering the mountainous terrain I live in.

Default I'm only averaging 12.4mpg, all city!

As the post states... 12.4 mpg all city... I think that's not that good... I was getting mostly 15-16 all city when I first got the ecoboost xlt 4x4 Screw. Highway was usually around 19 at 70-75mph.. Now seems to get about 20-22 hwy.. And I've had it at 26.5 at a sustained 65mph and that's with some hilly terrain over 20 miles or so...
The thing bothering me is even with a light foot, 12.4 mpg on this last 2 tanks all city, trying to baby it mostly...
Have not had any work done or checked on any recalls in the 3400 miles I've owned it so far.... Any suggestions? Alone know any of the tsb or recalls on this 2012 model yet?

Yesterday I repeated a trip from San Diego to LA. Did it two months ago when I bought the truck. It had about a thousand miles on it. Did 65 mostly with the cruise. No lower than 60 or so. Hit 25.7. I was impressed. Now the truck has nine thousand miles on it. Three trips to northern california on business. Did the same SD to LA trip at the same speeds and conditions and was at 27 when I got off the freeway. It must be broken in. I'm more impressed.
