I'm new here and have been watching this thread. I have a 2012 super crew with the ecoboost and have averaged 17.5 with over 5000 miles on the truck. I'm ok with that, but what kills me is that I get better mileage in the city than on the highway. A big BUT, as others indicated, we have 75 mph speed limits on interstates and that tanks the mileage. Prior to this truck, I had three successive Explorers and they all got better highway mileage than city. It's a bit perplexing, but bigger and heavier just means less mileage at higher speeds I guess. The only thing I pay attention to now is what the "Miles to Empty" indicates when I fill up. Highest so far has been 450 miles (mostly city driving), lowest about 365 (mostly highway, with a little playing around and off road) and today it was 420 (mix of highway and city).

worthless pic. Trip A/B is all that counts. No way you got 24.8 on a 240mile trip - show me the trip view.

I dunno. . . I got 23.7 over 2400 miles and I was running 70+ a large percentage of the time. Slow it down to 65 and it would have been better.

Where did you find 2400 miles of down hill? Ha! I'm starting to develop some small issues and will bring it in for service after another couple of thousand miles. 70+ on mine and it just drinks gasoline. Took a ride on a rode posted 85 mph this week and lowered all of my averages. Now I'm hearing what sounds like pressure blowing off when I accelerate at low speeds, or maybe a vacuum sound. This is new, so I'm curious what it might be.

Ha ha. .. it was actually a round trip on flat ground. I was also using 87 octane E10 for most of the time, had 6 people and a bed loaded with stuff. I was very pleased.

It's interesting how no one questions posts from people saying they get very low MPG's, but if someone says they get above advertised MPG's they need video proof.

Default EcoBoost Gas Mileage

I have two F150's with EcoBoost. My first was a 2011 company truck, when I picked it up at the dealer I was disappointed "couldn't believe my company ordered me a V6" , well my disappointment went away very quick. I was so impressed with the power and gas Milage that I trades in my GMC with a 350 and purchased a new 2012 F150 with ecoBoost. Now about the Milage, my 2012 gets about 1 mile per gallon more on hwy and city driving than my 2011. I live in TN and have driven it on 10 hr trip both north and south. Hwy Milage going north was 21mpg and 22mpg driving south on flat ground. City driving avg is 19 mpg. Below ate the specs on both trucks.2011: 3.73 rear end, 4x4, XL, supercab 8' bed.
2012: 3.55 rear end, 4x4 XLT, supercrew 5.5'bed.
The towing is like night and day compared to my 1995 GMC, I know if that engine was built with today technology it may be a different story but this little V6 out performs my GMC both power and especially on gas Milage.

Forgot include my current mileage, the 2011 has 42,000 and the 2012 has 6,400.

Default Use Co-op gas for better mileage

I agree 100%. In my experience in TX-OK-CO -- if you can find farm gas, then use it. The ethanol in the "city blends" is good for making power in Flex-Fuel vehicles, but it's TERRIBLE for gas mileage.

2011 EcoBoost KR SCrew; Max Tow, 3.73 4x4, 18" wheels.
