Wow, you pull a gooseneck with a 3.15 RA? There's a whole 'nother world out there on the Great Plains, isn't there.

@Pasprobe, don't worry your truck won't get any better mpg over time. My FX4 has consistently gotten 12-15 mpg mixed city and 15-16hwy, with my 8500 pound tt I get 8 on the nuts. This is with 21000 on the odo. I have played with a ton of variables, right now running 60psi in my tires, the mpgs have always stayed the same. I got over the bad mpgs awhile ago and am now saving for a F350 SD.

Unbelievable torque is all I can say! 65mph 5th gear 1700 rpm's never downshifts!
Haven't pulled any big hills but from what I have had in the past except for the superduty powerstroke it will run and pull circles around them!

I'm at 16.5 combined city/hwy on my '12 FX4. All stock except for a few cosmetic changes. No towing yet. I drive 75-80 on interstate which is probably over half my mileage. Just rolled past the 2,000 mark on miles. I'm expecting better. I love the truck, but really thought I'd be pushin' 20 MPG by now.

What do you get at 65mph?

Not sure--I'm never at that speed for long! I'll be on a non-interstate hwy trip here soon and will find out...

Lifetime average at this point is 15.78 mpg.

Went on a long road trip and was able to run it at 75-80 mph for long periods and since I got my back and refilled, due again today but my computer is currently reading 17.5 MPG, which is the second best it has read, best being 17.7. We'll see what it really is once I fill up as the 17.7 was actually 16.91 by hand. I have updated overall numbers but been busy and I'll try to post later.

Of course wasn't running it long enough but considering... mileage wasn't too bad

I could be wrong, but it feels like it got better gas mileage when I first got it. I get decent mileage around town, but I have to feather the throttle to get 20 - 21 MPG on the highway, and I mean really feather it.

Around town, I can get her up to speed then let off the throttle for decent city mileage. If I pass on the highway, the average mileage drops a bit.

And your complaining? I have never seen 20 mpg let alone 17, I average 14.5 all around. I don't jump on the pedal, I rarely go above 2000 rpms, Consider yourself one the of few who meet or exceed the mpg that is posted window sticker.
